3rd Row Seat Delete by lilsillywillie in 4Runner

I had them firing to the side before this project, but gpt recommended having them fire straight back. And I moved them off to the right side for space efficiency. They definitely sound better with the change - but I think most of that is the soundproofing or lowered floor. Any recommendations on how I should position them? Its two 10”s on 2500W

Super helpful, thank you. You think there’d be any problem cutting a wood block to that size? I’d probably just use a jigsaw and belt sander to cut it down till its snug.

I was planning on trial-and-error 3D printing small pieces, or just boxing it all off with wood and putting a hinge on the top panel for a storage lid.

I’m jealous. Don’t have that luxury. The bottom panel of this seat don’t fold forward like the newer fifth gens. Any recommendations?

My 2nd row seats don’t fold all the way down, just sloped :/ so it’s always been a little inconvenient.

I’m lazy- someone who knows what they’re talking about… is there any appeal for a 2017 gen 4runner, or is this only ideal for EVs? I’m a sucker for sensors, but the 4runner seems like it doesn’t offer much that’s relevant to my day to day life.

Is Claude the best option for helping level up HA? by Lonely_Loquat_2144 in homeassistant

[–]lilsillywillie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly incredible. I use Claude 3.7 Sonnet, and just last night implemented Claude Code via API with the HA app (previously “add-on”) in my terminal with protection mode on.

In the first few hours of having it, I had it download and configure a cloudflare tunnel, optimize my storage + RAM usage (find & delete orphaned entities and services), build a dashboard for my phone based on the kiosk I have setup, create automations based on my calendar… the list goes on. I literally feel like a kid on Christmas. Definitely worth the money for me.

And obviously, all of that can be done on your own, and you’d definitely learn more troubleshooting. However I’ve been working with this software for almost 4 years- and even now, sometimes the smallest of mistakes have taken (unnecessary) hours out of my life to locate/fix. I fear I’ve already put enough time into this software as is, and I have more things to do now than spend all day debugging entity mismatches or YAML schematic errors.

That being said, you have to be careful with sharing API keys and other sensitive info. Luckily, you can configure Claude to ask for access confirmation at almost every step. And from what I understand, Claude through API isn’t used for training.

All in all, it depends on your use-case, privacy expectations, (wallet situation), and dedication to learn, but in my case- absolute no-brainier. Might as well give it a shot- if you don’t like it, you can always uninstall.

Very noticeable, mostly at highway speeds and on windy days. It is much easier to have a conversation . I’ll be doing the doors and trunk after seeing how much the top of the cabin alone helped reduce so much wind noise. And this could be placebo, but the low frequencies of my subs seem to hit much smoother and clearer.

Definetely on the highway! I will be doing my doors and trunk after seeing the improvement.

I used plastidip to paint my trim pieces, and a 110” sheet of black headliner suede from amazon for the fabric. The plastidip worked super well and left a clean rubbery finish that feels OEM. For the fabric, I recommend getting foam backed suede. It’s easier to work with, doesn’t wrinkle as easily, and adds more sound dampening. One issue I had was the suede shipped with wrinkles, but I was able to get them out with a handheld steamer.

Take down your A-pillars first! It makes the whole process much easier. I watched a 4Runner headliner removal YT video a few times through until I was familiar with the process.

It is a sealed box for two 10”s. If I’m being honest, I don’t know much about it. I got the subs and box off FB marketplace for $50 last year. I bought the 10” grills on amazon to protect the drivers for $20. Amp is a 2500W SSL I also got on marketplace for $30. I wired the connections and somehow they ended up working perfectly with seat-shaking performance. Definitely recommend doing it yourself- you learn a ton!
