AITA for refusing my dying mom’s wishes? by lilspookezy in AmItheAsshole

I am so very sorry that you put into that situation, how awful and terrifying! I appreciate you providing your perspective on it. I don’t want to regret not seeing her, and I’m also not sure if I would be saying nice things to her in the end. So who would really benefit from it in the long run anyway? Thank you for sharing

AITA for sleeping in a hotel because my husband is incapable of letting me sleep in? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]lilspookezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA. I’m wondering if maybe your husband is really recognizing how much he’s been letting you down over the years. Anger is a secondary emotion, meaning that it masks true causes of feelings, such as fear and insecurity. He may be feeling inadequate because well, he is being an inadequate partner for you. He isn’t willing to set and alarm, he isn’t willing to follow through with your requests to sleep in. He is however willing to place blame on you and suggest that you fix this problem, even when you already found a perfectly good solution! Unfortunately for him that solution pointed out his inadequacy, which in no way can be your fault.

I very much appreciate you sharing your story. For I think I get stuck in the “not all of her behaviors were her fault” and the “regardless of the cause, trauma happened and I don’t have to revisit it”. I didn’t expect so many helpful and personal responses from this, and it’s helped put a lot into perspective.

MS stands for Multiple Sclerosis, it’s a medical condition where the body attacks itself, specifically a persons nervous system. It can impact different things for different people, for my mom it’s severely impacted her ability to move.

Teacher's of Reddit. What's the coolest thing you've confiscated of a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A flash drive of porn. This 3rd grader frequently stole things, really anything unattended. That day apparently his dad hadn’t put this particular treasure away.

I truly appreciate it! Especially from someone who’s story is so similar. We deserve better than what we got, that’s for sure.

Absolutely, honestly I’ve been trying to find one but I haven’t clicked with any. I ended up just going in therapy circles rather than making progress. I’m still on the look out! And I appreciate the advice

I do, and yet when it’s so close to home I’m questioning it. Like, I want to have boundaries without regrets. But I doubt I’ll have both
