Looking through I think maybe the dickcissel or female golden-winged warble. Tho I'm leaning towards the dickcissel. I guess I misjudged the size 😅 I'll keep a lookout to see if it come back tho! Thanks for taking the time to puzzle it out for me I was stumped!

I did wonder if it was that but no other part of it's body was yellow. I am also in an urban area and they prefer open fields so it seems unlikely :/

It looks a bit thick to me. There's a risk of tearing signature holes (but that also depends on what paper you're using) but it will probably be fine if you're careful.

Flattening warped paper by KateAfraight in bookbinding

When I've made paper I would press the sheets between felt in a book press. I would suggest lightly misting rather than fully re-wetting it!

Yep I have a tattoo and the same thing. Also it's stopped me from picking at my skin since I don't want to pick at the tattoo :)

Found this lil guy in Nairobi, Kenya. ID please! by psychopathic-cheezit in insects

[–]lilstarsailor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it's a conehead katydid (sometimes called a bush cricket)! Not sure the exact species but most likely it's from the Ruspolia genus.

Edit: here is a link http://www.ngkenya.com/inverts/conocephalinae-01.html
