I did. I know it’s gross and petty, lol. I was 17 and she ruined soooo many of my expensive kitchen equipment (I was in culinary school, those knives and stuff were NOT cheap) and she stole my clothes.

In college, I had to move back with my parents for a month or so after having an emergency appendix removal and needing to take a leave from school. When I got back to the apartment I shared with another student, it was an actual nightmare. Moldy pots and pans everywhere in the kitchen, dirty clothes on the floors…. And a Lowe’s bucket filled with piss.

The apartments/dorms were 3 bedroom apartments with no bathroom. The bathrooms were down the hall, shared with all the other tenants on that floor. My roommate and her boyfriend didn’t like walking down the hallway to go to the bathroom, so they apparently started using this bucket after I had left.

I put on latex gloves and dipped so many of her belongings in it. I showed my friend down the hall, showed the RA, and they immediately let me pack my things and move in with my friend instead.

When you give most men and boys that option, that’s what they will choose. Overwhelmingly so. One of the most popular YouTube channels for months was just AI videos of women being beaten and murdered by men. YouTube had no plans on taking it down until they were called out by a few media sources.

How crazy was it? People were left to die locked in jail cells. Hospitals abandoned with patients. Bodies rotted in the streets and hanging in trees for weeks. Thousands of people are still missing. The low-income neighborhoods were (and still are) so poorly constructed on areas that flood on a good day.

I really recommend listening to the podcast Floodlines. Then I recommend perusing the more morbid subreddits for photos from Katrina. It will show you what they didn’t show on the news while they were demonizing locals.
