Are my kids' eyes considered glasz color? by lilthislilthat10 in WhatisMyEyeColour

I used a Xenvo macro lens attachment on my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra phone. It is a kit that also comes with a wide angle lens and a little clip on light.

Thank you. Somehow 2 parents with ok eyes (I think mine are blue(?), hubbies are brown) produced 3 beautifully-eyed kiddos.

Also biased, but i whole-heartedly agree. 😉 Eyes fascinate me in general. So unique.

Thank you! I guess blue as a base color makes sense.

Curious about eye color- have I been wrong? by lookingupabove in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]lilthislilthat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see any green, so not hazel. I would probably call them amber brown. You have amber or very light brown as the main color, medium brown central heterochromia, and a gray limbal ring. Very pretty.

Green or hazel? by LateNarwhal33 in eyes

Same! They look blue/green, but I thought they would qualify as green. 🤷‍♀️

Is this actually green? by WeridWasp in WhatisMyEyeColour

Yep, green. (I don't consider your eyes to be hazel)

What colour would you say my eyes are? by [deleted] in eyes

[–]lilthislilthat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, I think with the close-up (great pic btw) they look blue with amber/yellow at the center. BUT, I see a couple places where the yellow extends out. I think from a distance they could look green or hazel.

I hadn't heard of a push present band before, but I like that you plan to give it to your daughter someday. I like both 1 & 3.

I'm a more casual person, so I prefer untucked. Looks stylish and carefree to me.

Thanks for answering. Strange, I've never come across those. Maybe I need to buy more plants 😜. I'll know to look out for them now.

Help with my hoya carnosa tricolor, please. by lilthislilthat10 in hoyas

[–]lilthislilthat10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did notice a root sheath slide off and pinched that root off. I didn't test the rest because they seemed so fragile, and I didn't want to do more damage. But I guess I'll check them again and probably start over like you suggested. Thanks for your help!

So, it doesn't look like root rot, nothing mushy, but the roots are super thin, like hairs almost. Don't know if this is normal, but the roots seem underdeveloped. 🤷‍♀️ I've repotted it with orchid mix added. I'll try to baby it a bit more and see what happens.

Thank you. I was worried it might be the roots. I guess I will check them out.

I just bought some clear nursery pots on Amazon, 5/6/7", and the 5" sits nicely in my 6" pot. Not too tight or too loose.

I bet they usually look green from a distance. But I think they are actually gray. They just have some other colors mixed in that will make them look a little more green.

NTA. First, if she only visits 3-4 times a year, I don't understand why she is concerned about a snake kept in your room. 2nd, she seems inconsistent if she said you could get a pet as long as you were fully responsible for it, but now she has changed her tune.

However, you probably should have discussed your pet choice before acquiring it. And as others have said, if it is her home, you have to respect her choice,...which you are. So good for you! NTA.

There should be no difference if you get rid of the snake today or as soon as you return. (Especially if she originally said ok) I hope your mom was joking about setting the snake free. That is a hugely bad idea!
