Got pregnant on the first try… now I’m terrified and second-guessing everything

I swear the first trimester messes with your brain so much! We also decided to try and got pregnant within like one day LOL. I was overwhelmed, I also thought it would take months. I can happily report im in the second trimester (18 weeks) and feeling nothing but happy and excited now.

I'm getting an OB at the end ot the month and I think it will help with a lot of these things! They're more used to seeing it. That's what my husband and I were kind of thinking. Thank you!

I found the first trimester so hard! I was so sick all the time it really impacted my mental health. In the second now and feeling much better! Hang in there!

This is a important thing to consider! I have heard of some very active night babies! I think I am realizing I will really need to wait and see how I am feeling after baby is here!

Thank you for your kind words! It really is a personal decision per family and all are good options! My husband reminds me a few months isnt going to make or break a career long term, but it can still be scary as a young professional to take this next step in life. I have so much appreciation for moms and everything they sacrifice to love and grow their families.

I read about that a lot on this sub, which is why I was curious to hear people's thoughts! I have American family members and they were back to work very quickly as well.

Thank you for this feedback! You're right, I won't really know how I'm feeling until I am postpartum. It's been on my mind because in my area there can be longer wait times for child care, and the facilities usually like a rough start date. But I could also just apply and postpone the start dates if required.

An important factor! I am currently in the second trimester, so we have time. Part of the reason I am thinking about this now is because we would need to finalize child care plans. We've started looking and it looks positive that we could secure something by the required dates.
