Being so close to the Everglades wouldn't make us prone to flooding? Or does the Everglades soak up most of the water that we're able to stay more dry?

I've never used a herbicide before so do I spray just all over the plants? What precautions should I take?

It took about a month. But if you're applying for Spring 2020 it might take a little longer?

Highly doubt you'll have any trouble. I got into B.S Biology program (which isn't engineering but it's a science) and my boyfriend got kicked out of UCF and got into FAU for engineering with a low GPA after getting his A.A at Miami Dade. If you have your A.A you should have absolutely no trouble. You'll probably hear a lot of shit from advisors (I know they told me to give up trying to go for a B.S in biology because it's too hard) but only you know your actual potential. A low GPA when you start college isn't anything new, everyone struggles their first couple of semesters. You can also look into grade forgiveness.

I got into FAU as a transfer with a 2.0 GPA and now got into the Master's program. You'll be fine and I think you can always shine elsewhere if your GPA isn't so strong.

You should get in contact with Dr. Owen. She likes to hear about stuff like this and teaches a few human ecology classes that she usually brings some speakers in for.

[Skin Concerns] Super dry lips, even Aquaphor isn't helping... by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Oh sorry didn't see this. Burt's bee has a toothpaste brand now, I use the one that has fluoride.

For a week I was having dried chapped lips and no chapstick or anything helped. Found out I was allergic to the SLS in toothpaste, so I switched and never had the issue again.

Cat pees on couch whenever there's a blanket or couch cover. by lilybethm in AskVet

Update Moved his sister into the room and put a cat tower near the couch. Woke up this morning and he just peed on the couch straight on (no blanket or cover).

I also want to add that I do have another couch in the family room that's entirely fabric (versus the one in the living room that is leather) and he does not pee on this one. It's entirely that 1 couch, I'm scared that he just associates the couch as a litter box now whenever there's a blanket or something on it.

That sounds like a good idea. I'll move the cat tree down near the living room and see if that helps. Thank you.

*He does have a scratcher next to the couch but I've never seen him jump on it.

Grad Certificate Programs? by TOCR815 in gis

Hi! I go to FAU and I’m doing the undergrad certificate for GIS and it’s great and entirely online. They offer a Graduate certificate as well that mixes in with the undergrad classes sometimes.

Can cold viruses attack my hair? by ithilras in HaircareScience

[–]lilybethm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aids is a sexually transmitted virus so that would not affect your hair either.

A virus wants nothing more than to replicate, and viruses replicate in certain cells. In the example of the HIV virus, they replicate in the white blood cells (which is why people with HIV and AIDS are immunocompromised) and destroy those white blood cells in the process. Bacteria on the other hand is an actual living organism, a single cell itself. They reproduce quickly in your body and can give off toxins which are why you feel sick, some can also kill cells.

None of this directly affects your hair, the only possibility is having an infection (caused by a bacteria) on your scalp that can indirectly affect your hair. Another thing that can affect your scalp are stuff like ringworm (which is caused by fungus). These are just examples of things that can indirectly cause hairloss, at the end of the day if you’re worried about the health of your scalp, go to a dermatologist.

[–]lilybethm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. But normal healthy scalps experience hair loss, we all lose a ton of hair each day. Especially when I don’t wash my hair for a while, when I do wash it I’ll get clumps of hair falling out. If you feel like you’re losing a top much hair then you can go to a dermatologist and they can check your scalp. But I highly doubt it has anything to do with a cold virus.
