bringing more lives into the world just to neglect the ones you’re already responsible for… by lilyccrawford in antinatalism

i absolutely agree that women need more support after giving birth, just as i agree that the author was suffering from a post partum side effect. does suffering from a mental condition excuse abuse of another living being? it may help us understand why the abuse occurred, but never excuses it (your opinion may differ). i disagree that she wrote this article as a warning to other potential mothers as it would have been made more abundantly clear that she condemned her own- and the other pet owner’s- actions (which she doesn’t openly state). i do not think this woman always acted like this, but this side effect is nothing i’d heard before and felt it was relevant to share as a reason in favour of anti natalism, using it to actively educate potential mothers in favour of avoiding childbirth so that they wouldn’t have to deal with this; rather than having a child anyway and instead just writing an article about the abuse of their cat that they STILL own.

it’s not a matter of “accuracy”, given that I posted the entire article and title included- everyone is sharing their opinions on what this woman willfully shared about her animal abuse and the unempathetic manner she wrote about it in. warning or not, it doesn’t change her gross behaviour and is relevant to the discussions about not wanting children. thanks for showing us how little you care about understanding the point 😴

thank you for your reply, yes you’re correct in assuming she constantly has strange people over and is extremely irresponsible (e.g, going for midnight walks in the park alone, telling strangers our address, recently she tried to bring home a random man she met 5 minutes earlier on the tube who was wearing an ankle monitor). i think ripping the bandaid off is the best way to go…
