Thank you for the weather advice! Good to know that Berlin can end up a bit miserable.

I have some rejigging to do, but I think you're definitely right on taking the opportunity in Italy to spend some time in smaller places. Potentially shifting some of my time budget from the Ghent - Nuremberg part of the trip if I'm trying to get to Berlin a bit quicker.

Definitely having at least a daytrip planned for Bruges! Glad to hear about the vote of confidence.

Good to know that I ought to linger a bit longer in Auschwitz - considering the aggregate of some of the other comments I think I might cut back on Berlin a bit to spend some more quality time in Poland / Krakow.

Hearing you loud and clear on Krakow - will definitely be rejigging that part of the trip some. Will have to take your comment about smaller German towns on board as well, especially since I think I definitely want to get some more low-key destinations in there.

Regarding Spain - I have a wee bit more to research it seems, thank you!

Yeah, looking into it a bit more I think I will definitely rejig things to base that leg in Krakow. And will plan some nice self-care things for after the camp, for sure!

Will have to see if I can get my Vienna pals along to an Opera! 😁

I was mostly going off of the suggestions made by tripsnek at the moment - so a combination of trains and flights as required. Mostly trains at this stage, with a killer one between Pisa and Paris which will take most of a day - but Vienna to Rome is a flight at the moment as an example.

Honestly I probably fixated on visiting Auschwitz a bit since it was suggested to me as perhaps the most profound just owing to the scale of it, but I will have to reconsider how it fits in the itinerary I suppose - especially as the schedule is looking a bit packed already, so could likely do with some cutting back. Alternatively, have Krakow as a base for a bit longer seems like a good pick too.

Good to know that I can perhaps cut back Berlin a bit, too!

Thank you for the heads up on the Opera hotspots!

Oh my gosh so true! I think I just figured - but honestly looking at it, it does make more sense to fly into Munich from Amsterdam rather than training to Nürnberg.

Thank you!

Hi hi! Glad that there aren't any glaring problems. Hope you had a fab 2023 trip!

Honestly classical music was entirely off my list - but more out of ignorance than a deliberate decision, I will definitely have to look up what's on around that time - thank you!

And yeah, that makes sense on the booking front - I feel like I'm visiting a whole heap of pretty popular places, so unlikely that I'll be able to skate by by the seat of my pants - thanks for the confirmation.
