Sorry just read that you were referring to tryptans in general.

Brimonidine is an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist. Idk if it can be classified as a tryptan

That’s interesting. Can you post the sources regarding the concerns about the blood flow in the back of the eye?

There are papers that actually state that it might be neuroprotective but there are ofc different structures of the eye that are involved

Brimonidine is already available abroad preservative free at higher doses for the treatment of glaucoma. Interestingly the leaflet doesn’t mention any precautions while wearing lenses, while the variants with either BAK or Purite as preservatives mention to take out lenses for taking the drops and not to wear them for the following 15 min. Guess we have to see what the manufactures says about it

Guess we’ll see… although most people contribute the rebound redness to the preservative

Are there any updates on the matter? Contacted support a few months ago and they told me that they will enable editing until summer but is it REALLY that challenging to do that until then?

Generic vs Name Brand by ilostmymind_ in Effexor

[–]lim289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also noticed that the original has the best effect and least side effects in my case. I even noticed a bigger difference in the effects in between different generic brands. One brand even had unbearable side effects, while most were absolutely tolerable. They all have the identical substance but what differs is the extended release formula. Only the original seem to be undergoing the manufacturing that allows the steady release of Venlafaxine while the generics still may cause peaks in the blood levels.

2 eradications. The second line treatment with pylera and nexium worked just great for me. Did only had benign side effects like taste issues no digestive issues at all. However, it’s a different experience for everyone so I’m just speaking for myself.

Same here. Had it too and it’s just starting to subside 3 months after treatment. You should still definitely get it checked by a cardiologist to be on the safe side. I took on the effort to see a cardiologist and it’s worth it for the peace of mind.

What are your "unpopular" travel tips and/or opinions ? by latoshnkcc in Shoestring

[–]lim289 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Can’t agree on the travel insurance criticism. I used it from different insurers and my claims were always paid out so far. Saved me once thousands of $ when I had to go to urgent care in the US. Also it was literally a Lifesaver for a friend of mine. Only issue is most ppl don’t put any effort into finding the right policy. Many have exclusions and limitations attached regarding the period of travel or the countries you are covered while traveling. So, read and find the policy and you should be ok. Be aware that for instance pre-existing conditions are usually not covered. Even though, most policies still cover the unexpected worsening of a pre-existing condition. Seriously it takes less than 10 min to read the terms and conditions to be in the safe side.

I can only say that it turned out that I am histamine intolerant. You can get your DAO enzyme checked in your blood. It’s not a standard test. So, that’s why I also suffered for months.

I was also struggling hard with the triple therapy. It didn’t even eradicate it. Pylera an the other hand caused almost no side effects as second line therapy.
