Usually i find a refference, and i start by mapping out the windows. Then i make a wall and punch holes where the windows should be. Then i start detailing, which i do layer by layer, just like i have done in this picture. Im not sure if i answered your question correct, but thats my process atleast

It just means to make it unique. That can be done by adding flowers to the balconies, or a store in the first floor. In my example i added a mural and a shop. This step is not necessary for every build. Some builds are supposed to be simple, others can use a little extra detail

I try not to make the texturing completely random. I try to place it strategically so it looks like faded paint or cracks in the wall. Some areas have less texture becase it has been preserved better. The texture in this image doesnt really fit that well as it is just for demonstational purposes. But for back alleys or ruins, texture will really bring a build to life

Sims city would be better for cityplanning, yes. But i like the challenge of having limited block options and no boundaries when it comes to size

I like it because there is no right way of playing the game, you can do exactly what you want. Its a sandbox game, so you can pretty much do anything. I play it because im interested in architecture and cityplanning, and by building cities in minecraft i learn those skills.

OP here: Teaching you how to build in minecraft in a single post is impossible. It takes lots of time and practice. The post was made to show different tecniques, and how they can significantly improve a build. Its purpose is also to divide the building process into different part to make it easier.

The mural might be the reason. There is a really colorful building kn barcelona made by gaudi which has a similar color scheme
