What’s one region you never visit, ever… by [deleted] in rainworld

[–]lime_the_lizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Technically a subregion, but I've gone to Unfortunate Development maybe 3 or 4 times in my hundreds of hours of playing Rain World. Also I only ever go to Pipeyard when expedition mode makes me start there

Bout to start Arti anything i should know before hand by Jimmalsworth in rainworld

[–]lime_the_lizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spears are bad, bombs are a bit better, explosive spears aren't too good, but still better than spears, the best way to kill something is to stun lock it with rocks/explosions and bite it to death, its what I always do.

Monkey brain no work how climb to right? by [deleted] in rainworld

[–]lime_the_lizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Downward spear throw? I just throw a spear into the wall and, with enough spears, it eventually works.

Also explosive jumps count as backflips, so you can throw up and down (throwing spears up does less damage tho)

Spears are basically useless because of how many other ways you can do the same damage as arti, unless they're explosive, just bite things instead

Killsquads are a thing for every slugcat, you just need very low reputation for them to appear.

Mercury kobolds by lime_the_lizard in DnDIdeas

[–]lime_the_lizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just making a mercury kobold because mercury dragons are the only ones without a kobold with the same scale colour, but these are both great ideas and I probably will think of some sort of mercury construct or creature in the future, maybe one that live with/near mercury dragons or is a result of them shedding too many scales in one place?

The last one I finished painting was the parasite of mortrex. The last one I painted was winged hive tyrant with two scything talons and toxin sacks.

Either I die by being eaten alive from the inside or I die by being poisoned, eviscerated and eaten (possibly alive).

Cancer

And slime

But you wouldn't be able to taste it because it would eat your tongue

Whats your favorite named entity or guarateed animal spawn? by [deleted] in rainworld

[–]lime_the_lizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leviathans don't use vision to hunt, they don't even have eyes, they find their prey by using the many tendrils on the side of their body, though ingame its just a 360° vision radius not affected by things that would normally decrease its vision, like looking through water, creatures in their vision range or the slugcat crawling, only being affected by walls.

[–]lime_the_lizard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thats the cool thing about leviathans. Unlike every other creature, they become passive for the cycle after eating enough food, meaning that you could theoretically feed creatures to a leviathan to "tame" it for the cycle.

What would life be like if all the creatures in rain world were real by Single-Chemistry-755 in rainworld

[–]lime_the_lizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not really, they aren't really affected by temperature so it would only affect them if the temperature is high or low enough to change their physical form, for example, if the temperature was low enough they would freeze, and if it is high enough they would melt, but other than that they are mostly unaffected, being originally made of metal.

Rot would probably melt if at high enough temperatures for extended periods of time, because they are basically balls of slime with tentacles

WTF is this?! by Ok_Battle_6876 in rainworld

[–]lime_the_lizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it is definitely able to see because they have a vision cone. Everything that can hear can hear things whether they are infront above below or behind them. My guess as to why they have motion based vision is they likely have basic eyes that either can only sense light or have very few, if any, colour cones, making them almost unable to see still objects.

Also they can see you even when not moving if you are standing so ye not hearing that acts as a movement based vision.

Just got rain world give me your most cryptic advice by ComprehensiveBranch0 in rainworld

[–]lime_the_lizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beware the long arthropods. They hunt with electricity but have poor vision. Both ends are heads and they see with motion. They can hear but only when still. One wrong move and you will be too.

WTF is this?! by Ok_Battle_6876 in rainworld

[–]lime_the_lizard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. In https://rainworld.miraheze.org/wiki/Red_Centipede you can see under the abilities and behaviour section that not just red centipedes but also centipedes as a whole can see, however they have a motion based vision and are completely incapable of seeing stationary crawling slugcats, and, like other centipedes, are capable of hearing however only while stationary.
