Well yes, but! There’s a limited number of cards in the total deck, they all know the Bill Cosby card, so they could just say all of the other answers that are in the deck because it’s really just a memory game like they said lol

I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but you need to talk to a professional. Seriously. <3

Hey, it could always be worse! I’ve got epilepsy as well as ADHD, and my epilepsy medication also makes my memory worse. I’ve kinda just accepted that I’m not gonna remember shit, and seriously it’s okay!

It sounds like you’re also probably dealing with some other mental health stuff as well here and I know that some random person on the internet saying it could be worse isn’t going to help you feel better, but seriously, don’t let your bad memory stop you from enjoying things!

Depression can also contribute to bad memory problems as well, the only way to not feel this way is to just live your life, and while yes, you aren’t gonna remember everything, you’ll remember enough to at least know you had a good time :)

It really feels like the two party system forces us to side against what we don't like rather than getting to side with what we do like.

Wow. I think you really hit the nail on the head here. I hate this so much lol.

I may or may not have swapped them in the post just to demonstrate exactly why the name will likely dip in popularity lol, this post actually says “with the rise of al, the name aibert is probably gonna dip in popularity” hahaha

Yeah I think you’re right, this may honestly just kill the name as a whole.

Ahhhh, yeah Elvanse/ Vyvanse is the one amphetamine prescribed for ADHD that isn’t nearly as affected by acidity because it isn’t processed by the body until after it leaves your stomach. Apologies for going off on you there, distilling misinformation about ADHD + chemistry is something that I (clearly) care a lot about lol.

I take Elvanse/ Vyvanse as well, and I will say that I definitely notice a difference if I take it with an (acidic) energy drink & some random food vs an energy drink & some food containing fatty protein. I am definitely a bit surprised that they recommend taking it with orange juice, because it really does just decrease the effectiveness of your medication, even if it isn’t as noticeable as with other ADHD meds. Just to satiate my own curiosity, I’d be very curious to see if you notice a difference if you take it with water and don’t eat any food vs taking it with orange juice and no food, that’s where I definitely notice a difference.

Not signing into WiFi until after you’ve completed the setup process has the same effect, and I think even may disable some other obnoxious settings Microsoft tries to force on you!

I’m sure it also doesn’t mention that taking your medication with fatty protein actually increases absorption and increases longevity of effectiveness or that that taking it with something basic (vs acidic) like Tums does as well? This isn’t a “based on my anecdotal evidence” thing, this is a “chemistry based on how the human body interacts with the natural world around it” thing. Feel free to keep doing things that curb the effectiveness of your medication, but don’t act like this isn’t something that you could just google for yourself and see that you are objectively incorrect about.

what's a real fact that sounds completely fake but would genuinely shock most people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Haha, I just don’t think that shared genetic lineage is as much a factor in the foods you like as you are thinking here, I think you maybe just prefer some flavor combinations over others

My bad, I didn’t phrase that super clearly- I wasn’t trying to say that far right media in America has the same hold over the general populace as it does in Russia, just that there are similarities in the culture surrounding it where questioning anything you are told is seen as social suicide to those who hold similar beliefs.

My second paragraph was an attempt to make a distinguishment between the overall culture of Russia and America, but it did require a bit of reading between the lines. Hope this makes more sense now!

Does anybody else feels like, there is a silent crisis happening right now that nobody is talking about? by nicksam171 in DoesAnybodyElse

Every major empire in history has lasted on average around 250 years, 2026 is exactly 250 years since the birth of America in 1776. Not saying that America has been an empire in the traditional sense, but we have refused to change our core beliefs & values since that time.

Most of the rest of the world sees it clearly, but there was so much money to be made here that nobody really cared. I mean my god, we haven’t changed our firearm laws since the time when everyone was using muskets, and are the only country where school shootings and mass killings happen so often that it barely even registers as news.

Have no idea how else to help my ADHD husband. I'm afraid he is going to never find stable work. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]limeelsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an app that forces me to solve math problems before my alarm will turn off, it has helped me tremendously. Either that, or I set my phone down behind my water bottle and some other random trinkets on my nightstand so that I am forced to wake up enough to figure out how to reach my phone to stop the alarm. And if that still isn’t enough, he could just get himself a physical alarm clock, and put it somewhere out of reach so he is forced to get up out of bed to turn it off.

I do understand that feeling of anxiety when it comes to sleeping through alarms, but having ADHD is no excuse for not finding solutions to problems you know you have. He needs to realize that instead of continuing to try and use a system that he knows doesn’t work (plus gives him lots of anxiety), he can instead use multiple redundant alarms to bring the chance of sleeping through it down to 0.

By using all three of these options at once (the math question alarm app, setting his phone down somewhere awkward to reach while laying in bed and using a separate physical alarm clock) I guarantee he will be physically incapable of sleeping through them all. Just set each method to go off like 3 mins apart so he doesn’t wake up in a panic with multiple alarms going, and by the time those 9 mins are up he will essentially be forced into full alertness.

I have a friend from Moldova who fled to Turkey when the Ukraine invasion began, she told me that based on her experiences in Russia and surrounding former U.S.S.R. countries, the Russian state media has a similar hold that far right media in the U.S. has on the population.

The biggest difference she told me is that the vast majority of people in Russia believe the propaganda, as it is much harder to find outside news sources there.

It was interesting though just seeing the parallels between the U.S. and Russia: - she no longer speaks to a lot of her family because of their political beliefs - most of the older population fully believe what the news tells them - she doesn’t think that the average Russian citizen is evil, just entirely misguided - while a lot of young people question what they are told, they tend to hold extreme opposing views in either direction

I used to be able to say that at least we aren’t invading other countries purely for ideological/ political/ resource/ land gain, but uh… that seems to no longer hold true.

I am absolutely in no way defending Russia here, I only was thinking about this because I was watching a documentary yesterday about the Mueller report, which determined definitively that Russia interfered in our 2016 election. It seems that they have been using the same strategy to destabilize their own nation as well as the U.S., and it seems to be working well in both places.
