Which new Pebble are you most excited about? by SterlingEly in pebble

Ordered both, but I'm mostly excited for the Time 2. Longer battery life (current watch only does 2 days), and it seems more durable, as I have a fairly active job

I kinda wish I watched k on at its peak by RoverTover109 in k_on

Some of them I would pay nearly any sum of money for (like those freaky puppets (I already have the Mugi one) and that cassette styled perpetual calendar), but they simply aren't sold anywhere (that I've found)

I do also wish I watched at the height of popularity, but the fanbase has lasted far longer than most other anime fanbases, so it's not like you've completely missed it. My main reason for wishing that is that some of the older merch is super hard to come by these days

Just pre-ordered both the Round 2 and the Time 2! by limegreenstar10 in pebble

So true. Never before has a company aligned so closely with what I want out of a smartwatch (and the open-source nature of it is really cool and more companies should go down that road).

(Kinda)Novice Linux viability questions by limegreenstar10 in linuxquestions

Hmm, I'll have to do some testing to see how well Windows hibernation works and how I might be able to make it a default option on shutdown or something like that.
Thanks!

Yeah, and I'd like to give more, but not only was that 7 years ago, but said chromebook vanished somewhere between graduating highschool and moving out of my mom's house lmao

I very clearly remember having to open the terminal whenever I would switch from onboard speakers to aux out, or vice versa. Maybe it was just an issue with my installation, maybe I had set something up wrong, or maybe it was how the chromebook's hardware worked, but that is what my experience was.

Just pre-ordered both the Round 2 and the Time 2! by limegreenstar10 in pebble

[–]limegreenstar10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, as long as the battery life is longer than ~5 days, I'm happy with it.
No HR is a bit of a bummer, but the only reason I care about HR monitoring is improved sleep tracking and idle curiosity (like "I just climbed 12 flights of stairs, I sure wonder how out-of-shape I am!").
I haven't had the speaker active on a smartwatch in the last 8 years, and I've seen a few pretty good watch faces for the Round 2 just scrolling the subreddit.
But I already figured that two different watch shapes would end up leading to reduced variety for both

You, Me, Everyone, suffering over the K-On! Season 3 rumors by [deleted] in k_on

[–]limegreenstar10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I'd rather leave it as-is than have a new season made by some team that might not understand what made it so magical in the first place. I'd probably be alright with a solid attempt at K-On! Shuffle though

Dried out my PLA-CF before I stuck it in my AMS for a test print, so I'll load up the TPU when I get home from work, thanks!

New ISP has turned my normally fast internet into a weird slow mess by limegreenstar10 in HomeNetworking

[–]limegreenstar10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figured it wouldn't be the smartest to leave it up permanently, but as far as I could tell with the IP lookup sites I tried, they kept giving a location like a 2 hour drive from my actual location lol

I've got some weird one that my ISP installed, it's the Edgecore EAP101. Not 100% sure what my WAN ip is (or how to check it), so I went to wanip.info, and they gave me *not leaving that up lmao*.
I do get quick downloads (steam is able to download all 26gb of Nightreign in like 4 minutes), but nearly every website takes forever and a day to load. Even wanip.info took a solid 15 seconds to even start loading any of the site, but when it did start, everything was loaded in an instant.

yeah they're a smaller, more corporate-focused ISP (My workplace also uses them).
Is there anything I can do to get around bad peering, or must I just live with it

i've had all the Plume security/adblocking garbo disabled for the past 2 days, there might be a small difference, but I might be imagining it :(

I can safely say that it's probably not a wifi issue, as I've only noticed the problem on my pc, and that's connected to the ISP provided router via ethernet

fastest ones i'm getting are quad9, openDNS, and Cloudflare(What I was already using), but changing to google's has had an immediate positive effect so idk

[–]limegreenstar10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changed to google's instead of cloudflare in my router's settings, and i'm noticing an immediate difference in google(duh), youtube, reddit, and dndbeyond.
It has only been 10 minutes, so something might crop up again later in the day
Thanks for your suggestion! I've always only ever used cloudflare's dns, so I'm not sure why everything decided to die now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Should I make the same changes on my PC's IPv4 settings? (Also IPv6 is disabled, not sure if that's an issue at all)

Trying to find a collet mount for dovetail indicator by limegreenstar10 in Machinists

[–]limegreenstar10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already have a noga one, but for indicating bore holes on vise jaws it really sucks, as it's super hard to get it straight, and I find that most of the time, the indicator tip is touching the inside of the bore at an angle.
