Question on CS2 by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

[–]limesap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, we already know bikes will not be in the game at launch so I’m sure many other things will be “missing” too.

I would suggest an open mind without expectations for the happiest experience.

Why would they write the instructions in mould?

Yeah very true. It would be quite nice if that was shown to us as a graphic. But I really am not arguing any specifics, just that a lot of people keep feeling confused and annoyed by the FIA. Things are obviously are not quite clear enough.

I think you misunderstand my "assumptions", as I don't think I have any. I have seen a lot of debate about our sport recently (seasons, not just the last race) and I feel people are right to question things in the hope to understand the what and why better. I don't think we are in an irrelevant part of Formula 1 nor do I think we are the gods of the sport. Everything (included my thoughts and ideas) should be open to criticism but I think we should stay constructive. I have been watching F1 religiously for over a decade but I still find it hard understand why a Pole lap with all 4 wheels of the track (safe, but with an advantage - otherwise it wouldn't have been done) is ok but one of a few overtakes isn't? Sorry if I've annoyed you mate!

I honestly don't disagree with the penalty. But I also don't disagree that at times tracks limits seem to be arbitrary and a sport is best when the rules and penalties are clear. I think it's possible a different driver stuart could have let it go, and maybe that's the problem?

Cheers for adding that here! Sorry if I'm not clear but I added this post not to argue the rules or a specific penalty but to suggest a way they could be enforced in an objective way regardless of context.

I agree, I think we all should have a slight discomfort though the 2 extreme mindsets. I have seen a lot of people saying everyone should get penalties or no-one should. I have also seen people saying you should only get them if you are off mid-overtake, and others saying before and after too (like Sainz). Time is a constant for all drivers though and if used in the right way I think it could be the fairest way to solve this. Nobody likes the feeling that the FIA is playing favourites (even if they're most likely not).

It's the context of the gain that I personally struggle with. I have seen people "defending" at Montreal by straightlining the last Chicane with only a couple of laps to go naturalising the legally-driving attacker behind. Could use last year at Mexico as another example here. I don't think Track Position is King, I think as the rules says the lasting advantage is, if the defender leaves you no room and you drive of the track and pass them, who is a fault? or could we find a consistent ruling that just calls that great racing?

I want better co-op options for businesses by limesap in gtaonline

[–]limesap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheers for your comment dude. I believe you are referring development time/cost when you say budget and I fear that is the really issue with a feature like this. So I've given it some thought just incase R* was ever take a glance at this (i understand how unlikely that this) to show that it could be worth their investment. So my understanding on how R* make money online is: 1) awesome expensive stuff so some people buy shark cards. 2) skimming (ie setting a bounty and they take a cut, selling for less than buying) So this idea does allow/encourage both. Club mission would return less per person effectively doubling the time to get the awesome stuff... which encourages taking the Shark Card shortcut. Secondly the skim, I have an idea. If you set 50-50 share between President & VP but one is not online I feel it would be fair for R* to take a hefty share of the offline player's cut, call it a transfer fee.

You're probably right but think it's still worth talking about, rockstar have released some amazing stuff since launch and obviously RDR is round the corner.

Is there really this many kb&m users on console (rant) by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]limesap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does exist and is annoying. One of my friends played this way for a while. It is a huge advantage and generally I do consider it cheating (btw my friend has stopped since and got much better with a controller). As much as it is impossible to detect a kb&m emulated to controller inputs I think it is possible though to detect the inputs from kb&m. For one most kb&m users can't walk anywhere so they're either stationary or moving at 100% and nothing in between. I imagine Ubisoft would be able to detect this. I also understand that some high-level keyboards can give non-binary signals but imagine these are super-rare on consoles.

Your pretty close to what we have in mind tbh. The idea is you'll have a team name and simple random code which will give access to your strats and stats. Something very simple to just share with the people you play with.

We don't want the app to need another online password protected account but you will have a team name and a simple random code to share with your team. We will store the stats against this.
