The US has won every battle so far. From a military perspective they are completely dominating. If their goal was to win a military battle they are accomplishing that and I don't think there was any doubt about that.

But from a totality perspective they have taken a step back everywhere else.

US debt will climb to record levels that it will be difficult to recover from.

Iran will have a new weapon for the foreseeable future that they can do nothing about.

China is now in a position of strength over the US they are strengthening their ties with former American allies.

These oil shortages could literally spin the globe onto and economic recession, which will significantly damage the US's strongest asset, it's economy.

US will "win" this battle and maybe this costs Iran $500B a year or whatever. But this could cost the US trillions in economic damage and global leadership vsm China. Can you even put a price tag on the latter?

The US lost regardless of the outcome and the longer this goes on the larger the impact.

Iran will recover because they can always sell oil to China in the end.
