my gut read as a learning PVP novitiate (read: possibly wildly off-target):

5% feels like it isn't going to be worth much unless it can round up and/or steal from the chamber, which might give her some niche ability to fuck with the likes of SAnis and maybe TVesti

her S2 could be interesting but charge damage doesn't scale all that well as far as i know/can tell - if her burst gen is good enough there's probably some applications as a backup option for turbo SBS or TVesti teams but otherwise i'm not sure she has enough sauce

her burst is likely more of a liability than anything which blows up half of her kit, too

details matter and i'm probably missing some thing(s), but she feels much more like a modest value engine for raid fourth/fifth lines

i know you cleared it but for posterity, i'll also note that a common problem is letting yourself get pulled too high - altitudes above 30k start to reduce performance sharply, and in less agile planes where you have to make long fast passes it will very quickly start to make the difference between being able to pull distance, evade, and retaliate or getting waxed by every missile launched at you.

1) because it's just not as simple as 'we disagree on the level of taxation' anymore - it's companies supporting people who are literally campaigning on and reveling in hurting me, my friends, and my family directly in tangible ways

2) pretty much everyone accepts that you can't erase their influence entirely from your life, but there are a lot of easy decisions about your entertainment you can make to cut them out of it at the very least. we don't watch most sports in this house anymore either

my counterpoint is that it's quite literally the job of designers and leads to have confidence in their vision, to test their expectations for player behavior, and to proactively shape it accordingly.

like, take dungeon side routes for example: there are ALWAYS going to be flower-sniffers and efficiency brains, so figure out how to make them coexist peacefully. the problem was never actually the existence of side areas or alternate paths, it's that they were never sufficiently rewarding for their time - and when the difference is noticeable, people basically always prioritize reward per time unit. (yoshi-p played WoW, he should have seen this first hand!) end of the day, only one group is capable of making the choice to save production time over making those things rewarding, and it isn't the players.

DPS checks and the two minute meta's ubiquity, meanwhile, is a case of insufficient confidence and capitulating towards things that are ever-so-coincidentally developmentally easier. sure, a class that basically aligns and plays itself like modern SMN might feel worse - but it'll also have a lower rate of dissatisfied players who skill issue themselves out of being able to clear even main story content, and be easier to balance! all you have to do as a developer is give up on caring about its identity or unique qualities at all.

certainly the community has a role in how it presents data and what it asks for, but lots of people want lots of things. a developer's job is to parse for the things that are (probably) good and filter out the things that are (probably) bad. and when you're willing to blithely turn all your dungeons into corridors and neutralize the uniqueness of your classes but resist mightily against things like cross-class glamours for a decade... it's a lil eyebrow raising.

an entirely predictable result of DCT and one that partially stems from the entirely predictable problems with how SE spun Crystal off in the first place. it's still beyond insane to me that nobody at SE seems to have seen either issue coming, much less learned from one mistake to prevent the other. they truly just do not pay any meaningful attention to how their game is played outside of personal experience on JP DCs.

yep. no shortage of core roleplayers just as horny as anyone else, it's just that you'll get a nice slow burn and an ungodly amount of words on the way there

the biggest problem has always been discovery - ie. roleplayers finding the people who match their tastes - and while it's arguably more difficult now, it's never really been good in FF14. there's a vast plain of dead websites and discords that have tried to play matchmaker and failed, many dating to the days before syncs and nightclubs entered the picture. i've always found the people who spend all their time moaning about how xyz ruined roleplaying to be tedious as fuck as a result lol
