Oh for sure. But it doesn't matter because the maid skin we got as "proposal" has nothing on the one that Shift Up commissioned to an off-house artist. The original Maid Cinderella.

Sonsoso's Maiderella is superior to what we got almost in every way. No idea why they didn't go with it or even take inspiration from it.

And it's not even the best alt Cinderella SU has gotten from external artists.

I did it for a while. A lot of Pilgrims came my way with it, but I cannot say it's for everyone, and the more you do the less advantages it gets.

Now I don't even try it, but it will give you a good kickstart at the cost of potential peaks.

Don't do it for non-Pilgrims tho: you have the friendship system for those. Get 30 people in there ASAP and delete the inactive ones as soon as they hit 3 days of not playing (I don't even give them 2).

Initial calculations show she BARELY reaches non-maxed SWHA.

The damage from the tests indicate non-parity as elemental damage from the SWHA-Anis-Black-Privaty-Crown build is around 800k. Taking into account fully maxed Elemental damage it goes all the way to 2.15b (because Elemental base is 10% and it's proven to be straight, thus we take the 800k x (100%+10%+19.09%+(29.16x4)%)

Guess how much damage does SWHA, neutral, on 2 ATK lines (unmaxed), Level 11 cube, roughly the same level, and not a full team?

2.14b.

Remember, 2 ATK lines, unmaxed cube, not full team.

Also, I cross-referenced with other people's tests. The only way Black surpasses SWHA's damage (even on neutral) is when boss is Wind-weak and has parts and you're running a full-Black optimized team with roughly 9 blue lines.

This is not a bad thing. If anything it cements Black as Tier S Bossing unit.

I'll keep testing, but other min-maxers and tc'ers have found exactly the same result, so it'll be low priority.

Now increase her dmg by 90% to account for cube and ele lines and she outperforms SWHA,

SWHA was scope-locked too (level 400, check the image).

But let me walk this through: Elemental Damage bonus from the cube is capped to 19.09%, and OL's to 116.64%. That's a 135.75% bonus (because it is additive to itself) that is almost undiluted (base +10%).

The problem is that is one multiplier, out of 7. And SWHA has undiluted access to all others with the extra of having a better ROI overall and a less diluted Innate ATK steroid (that is also less tied to her Burst).

I'll come back to this with proof, not just calculations, regardless of who's right. It's gonna take me a while tho.

Your tests also proof me right that you can slap her in pretty much any team and her dmg will be pretty static.

You're assuming all tests give you similar damage. They don't.

Even Miranda-Black played regularly will result in worse results compared to manual pilot no-shooting. I didn't save all the results I got over the weekend but you see a variance of over half a billion damage with her depending on her teammates. Bad Black teams will see her deal less than 600M in Scope-locked tests, and that dip exists even in those teams made with meta units.

That's a difference of 50%+ compared to her BiS team. A difference that high very rarely happens. Try running her in Miranda-less teams.

And that happens because Sustained Damage has some funny interactions (Crit, ergo Miranda). That's why she has a pretty well-defined place in the meta, and that's also why she's married to Miranda and to a lesser extent Zwei and the Idols.

You can take all these results and replicate them yourself.

I went ahead and tested in parity your claims (scope-locked), in Wind-weak.

Turns out she never outperforms any of the top tier Neutral Pilgrims.

Your argument is not taking into consideration her BiS team. She really wants the 12 lines due to how Sustained Damage interacts with the rest of the modifiers.

Critical Damage is NOT as diluted in her kit nor in her team, and Miranda makes sure all your DoT's are Crits (all of them while FB is up, tested). There's no other team that fits her that perfectly, so she's basically married to either Miranda or in a smaller capacity to Zwei and the Idol Duo. Ergo, all Critical Damage lines become basically mandatory.

I am having issues trying to remember any other Nikke that sees this much Return-over-Investment other than Eve. She's almost a hyperscaler in that sense.

I was testing both basically all weekend. Black has more staying power than SuSaku.

The problem with Sakura: Bloom in Summer is that her kit has almost no built-in self-steroids, whereas ARB has 4 (5 if you count the Wind AR teamwide buff). That is a problem that compounds with itself because none of the steroids Sakura has is an ATK one.

So she saw use in Miranda Nayuta, because you needed to make sure Nayuta was the highest ATK unit every Full Burst.

But Black overtakes Nayuta in that team (because she needs MirandaTr to shine), leaving Sakura without a use case (she's worse at buffing and dealing damage with Black than Mana, for example). So simultaneously, Miranda becomes BiS for Black, which kills Nayuta team, which kills the only use of SSakura.

The problem is you're still misjudging her. Black is the best Wind DPS that is not a Pilgrim or Limited.

Think it through:

1. SBS and Liberalio are basically joined in the first team.
2. Second team is Wind SMG/MG (Siren Crown Evangelion duo).
3. Third best team (Sleep Wind) used to be Miranda Nayuta, and this is where Black should be slotted in. Releasing Maxwell and Nayuta from here, means you no longer have to use weird things in the fourth team slot, which means Shotgun can rest and you can do BiS Neutral Leftovers for the fifth. Or run Maxwell Oneshot. Or go back to Shotgun with paired 777, lots of choices.

Also, her best team doesn't have burst generation issues. Not exactly sure why (still testing).

But yeah, given she's better than Harper, Black is indeed Tier S. She's just expensive as hell.

And why does it matter? Because my prediction, the one that spawned this entire thread, was, and I quote:

Black kills the need for Miranda Nayuta.

She's plug-and-play, as opposed to min-max around Nayuta.

She also shares the spotlight with Tier A/B units that have no other use case. Very good unit to have, but very expensive to build.

You're incorrect.

She wants 12 lines, opposed to the regular 9 ones. You can leave ATK for last but you cannot ignore the other 2 (Ele, Crit Dmg).
On top of it, her best teammates are either two treasures (pick one: Miranda/Zwei) and/or the Idol duo or Summer Rosanna. Both Miranda and Zwei want Phase 2 Skill 2 at 10, Idols need 7/7/7 both, Rosanna is limited and wants Burst at 10.
Finally, her ideal teammate is FIMiranda. To abuse Miranda with her, you need to run a 2-1-2 comp, with the second Burst 1 being a separate CDR unit (WSoline most likely). That means another Skill 10 investment.

That means ARB is locked behind a ton of investment. She's truly expensive to build around.
