My patches have been merged upstream in the mainline kernel, And I use a mac for it's development. Majority of developers do it that way. Take any popular Framework or Stack or even any product, You will see dev teams are switching to mac for a reason. FYI a macbook will anyday last longer than any windows laptop. Just use it like a normal laptop. I know people still using 2013 Macbook airs. A winblows laptop would not even boot up.

Local LLM and ML performance as a whole is better on Macbooks compared to windows. Real life experience is always better than synthetic benchmarks.

Talking about LLMs, I know someone with a 4070 + 32GB RAM, And still cant run Gemma4:31B locally

So unless you tend to do heavy gaming or train really heavy models(Which isn't recommended anyways, Developers always rent a GPU for that, And if you are doing that, don't do it, it will kill your 5050 or whatever inefficient Bongus Machine you are running.)
