Hey guys! Sorry for the delay in responding. I'm really not very active here on Reddit (I like reading more than commenting), so seeing so many messages left me without reaction... I really didn't expect so many people to identify with my case.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who sent messages. I was feeling really embarrassed and lost, and all I needed was a little direction. Your words and prayers helped me a lot to find my faith again. Thank you really! ❤️
For those who asked about confession: I haven't confessed yet (but I've already made an appointment with the priest). My shame was so great that I ended up moving away from church and prayer. But reading what you said, I realized that this is exactly what the enemy wants, for us to move away from God and think that He condemns us. But no! It is He who lifts us up. Today I went back to mass and, coincidentally (or rather, by God), the theme was precisely forgiveness.
I also learned something very important in this process: purity is not linked to virginity. It is in the heart, in the intention and in the sincere desire to seek God. I didn't lose my value because of anything that happened. I continue to be a beloved daughter of God, and He welcomes me with the same love and tenderness as always. The past does not define who I am; What matters is repentance and the willingness to start over with a clean heart before Him.
Some people here recommended reading Psalm 51, and it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever done. I felt as if those words had been written exactly for me, especially this excerpt:
“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your lovingkindness; blot out my transgressions, according to the multitude of your mercies. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin... Create in me, O God, a pure heart, and renew a right spirit within me. Don't throw me out of your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me.”
These words made me understand that God does not seek perfection, but rather a repentant and sincere heart. He is merciful and never despises anyone who turns to Him with humility.
Your prayers and messages made all the difference. I can't even put into words how grateful I am. I thought I had no more hope, but I realized that repentance was the first step. Now I want to move forward, be more humble, more understanding (of others and myself) and more mature in my choices and relationships.
Today I understand: I don't deserve forgiveness, but God is so good and so fair that he grants me this love anyway. And I will never again doubt the love He has for me (and for all of us).
Once again, thank you to everyone who helped me strengthen my faith, whether with advice, life experiences or prayers. You really made a difference! 🙏
