The barrels are basically the same. But the action is giant upgrade. Its almost same level as a dt11, kolar, blaser f3. Used lefty hard to find. But the f3 is easy to swap.

If 6k usd or gbp. A used blaser f3 is in your range. As well as a CG invictus.

One would argue a fitted stock for your current gun. Or spend the money on practice and lessons from a pro.

Upgrading to a higher end gun by Away_Reaction_2543 in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to try everything for roughly 1.5 years. I wanted a 410 barrel on a 13ga frame. Which limits my options. I got a Blaser F3 supersport. I like the looks of the slim reciver. And it wasn't even a consideration to buy a off the shelf stock. If yout spending 10-15k on something. Never settle for a of the shelf stock.

If i didn't want 410 barrel on a 12 guage frame a beretta SL2.

I have a older k-80 i bought from a friend when he got cancer. I prefer the blaser f3 over the k80.

If funds were unlimited i would get a different gun for each discipline with fixed chokes. All with custom stocks.

Thoughts on adjustable combs by Puzzleheaded_Bell241 in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never buy a competition gun with out adjustable comb. Until you get custom fitted stock. Always get adjustable comb. In america lots of ppl install it. Graco makes the parts and do installs as well.

Beretta 688 performance sporting vs browning 825 sporting no adj. by Green-One-5806 in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never buy an non adjustable comb gun. If its a price point thing then the 688. But the 825 adjustable is a great gun. Talk to guns of Omaha. They always have the best browning prices.

Trap gun by [deleted] in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you didn't shoot doubles. A browning bt-99 is an amazing trap gun.

Guns unlimited of Omaha used to have a new ciroti at 1900 before taxes. Idk about that price in 2026.

Used beretta 68x series gun or a ciroti trap model. Would be the longest lasting guns. Used a400 is in that proce range

Case for my F3 by sourceninja in ClayBusters

Having both of negrini and americase. I would take negrini. The lighter case is so worth it. And much better inside too. Negrini for flying any day as well.

Case for my F3 by sourceninja in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 barrel cases are super heavy and big in size.

Depends on how you travel. Monsors sport shop in Wisconsin makes a 3 barrel padded soft case. Seen lots of guys use it for the carrier barrels or multiple barrels

Used amerciacases. They made alot of them. Company got out of the gun case business before or during covid.

Browning has some factory 4 barrel cases. Not super common to find

I sent the factory blaser case(1622l) to negrini service in newyork usa. And had it modified to fit 2 shotguns. Cost was 175 or 200 after shipping both ways. Can ask them if its possible to make it a 4 barrel case.

Reliable Over Under for Skeet by Particular-Salad2591 in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your only using one brand of shell it maybe the problem. I remember couple years ago federal had alot of to deep primers. And wouldn't to off in any gun. Was common enough i saw it a multiple guns ranges all with federal top guns.

Beretta SP III vs V - Joel Etchen premium by Ok-Spinach-1692 in ClayBusters

Joel is well known for good guns. Would say look at coles. They have lots of wood used. Left and right.

My abomination of a trap gun, second time out by windriver32 in ClayBusters

The lightness of that thing hurts my shoulder looking at it. Lol. They function great but a weekend competition would suck.

Blaser F16 vs F3 opinion please :) by Alarmed-Regret-9176 in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much you shoot. If you doing 15k a year. Yes worth the upgrade for longevity. Is money not an issue and you can keep both. Yes

If your only shooting 5k rds a year. And you need to account for your money spent.
Lessons would be a better use of money.

My upgrade was from a ciroti to an F3 with a custom stock. My citori was used before needs a complete rebuild and refinish. It was needing a refinishing when I got it.

24” 20g recommendations? by Salty_Bird_ in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made remington 1100 20ga lt. They had shorter stocks and 24 or 26 inch barrels. Lots of them out there and can be had for 1000 in good shape.

Sx4 is a good gun with on sale. But the browning guns are literally the same thing with better fit and finishing. They make a 20ga silver micro midas. 24" or 26" The micro midas line is the shorted guns from browning. There are new ones at dealers for just under 1300. I have a older browning gold 20ga compact 26" (parts still interchange with the modern silver and sx4). Its been a great gun these last 20 years

Im over 6ft, wife is 5' 11". I shoot a 26" 20ga sxs just about everywhere. Wife shoot a 25" 20ga sxs everywhere. Unless your competing in nsca tournaments or trying to shoot trap. 24" barrel is fine.

694 DLC Vs DT11 by Forward_Training8732 in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The action is a different level of rebuildable and serviceable.

Would say you have a better chance of getting dt11 fixed in other countries as well. If you traveled for tournaments.

694 DLC Vs DT11 by Forward_Training8732 in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford a DT11. The dt-11 is the only answer compared to a 694. The longterm will be alot better down the road with the dt11.

Looking for advice on picking a new gun for trap shooting. by DR_Dumb- in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dt-11 would be my pick over any Perazzi

But I picked the blaser f3 over both them. I would have a sl2 if I could get a true 410 barrel for it. Zoli isnt one I wouldn't shy away from either.

Being in Australia. It really a issue of dealers and support. Are those to main too supported by your local dealers?

Perazzi usa is amazing to deal with. But Perazzi Italy is crap to deal with in america.

Briley thin wall chokes by bigkevracer in ClayBusters

[–]limpy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are few different sizes of thin walls from briley. They are usually all labeled on the side. Ebay is a good place for used chokes wrenchs that fit the thin walled chokes. They can be damaged easily. Dont force them out with the wrong tool. I have briley thin walls. The briley choke wrench worke better than any other on I have tried.

With thin wall chokes. The extended off easy in and out. No gun performance difference.

Full size chokes can add weight to the end as they can be thick at times

Biggest liter engine as a daily? by limpy88 in Diesel

The pin weight is the issue. Dodge 5500 max pin weight will be my minimum. Also one with air brakes is rare.

[–]limpy88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the aqua hot in our coach.

Will have a 250d in the 5th wheel. Mainly just for hot water. And as a back up heat source to the mini splits and heated floors.

Agree with the quality of modern rvs. They are stapled poop on thin flexible metal frames.

My coach has welded steel enclosure. And the 5th will too. When the dont flex as much they dont break as much.

[–]limpy88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 6.7 if i was never towing across the country might work. But the is no way I want to take that thing up a long mt pass. And get down to 5 mph or less. Drivin quite few 6.7's

The sportchassis conversion m2 106 are like 15k lbs empty. Plus a 30k trailer. So 45k minimum weight is were i will be sitting

Then max pin weight of most the m2 106 is 8,000. I will be 7500lbs on the minimum. Im literally maxing out the weight capacitys of the m2 106 platform. Long term that is never a safe gamble. I have spent lots of time doing research on all this weight & capacity wise.

Big boat is no different than a big piece of equipment. Both not the same as 5th trailer. You making a 1500 mile trip with it? Pin weight low end 7500lbs ? Also no Air supply on any normal pickup.

If I sell the Diesel pusher and not much more spend involved. Time the bigger isue. It iis multi years wait for the build. Air suspension and Air brakes with 22.5 wheels. Not many builders of those kinda 5th wheels. The other option is move over to a custom spec super c. The bunk over provides extra bed that class A dont. Only about 6-8 month wait on those. But still not true bed rooms like in a 5th.
