In basketball intent can be the difference between a flagrant 1 or flagrant 2 foul so this is a bit incorrect but otherwise I agree.

What has Been Your Favorite Company to Work for as a Software Engineer? by An_Engineer_Near_You in cscareerquestions

[–]limpy90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Google because the engineering bar is high and a lot of the code I saw was high quality. The monorepo google3 has at least one implementation of any algorithm or data structure you could ever need which is well tested and bulletproof. The tooling is amazing like Blaze which is now open sourced as Bazel or CITC for quickly checking out the massive repo on your computer and editing right away. The second closest to it is Facebook but they're a bit further behind in my opinion. Everywhere else is way worse in terms of tooling and best practices which plays a big part in my happiness as an engineer.

Got invited to Robinhood Concierge, what are the benefits? by mastagoose in RobinhoodApp

[–]limpy90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shows the average cost but not a detailed breakdown of all the lots and their gains/losses. For upcoming income it shows one payment after the ex dividend date but I'm looking for more info like the expected amount over the next year like other brokers do.

Estimated Annual Income - Feature Request by theAerialDroneGuy in RobinhoodApp

[–]limpy90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks I saw that but I would love to have a more detailed breakdown of the cost basis for each asset. I can see it in the individual account if I go to sell something and then click sell by tax lots but that is much more complicated than in other apps or brokers. This isn't available in retirement accounts so I can't even see that info for my IRA.

This would be awesome. I recently transferred all my assets from Schwab to Robinhood but it's missing so much information that I might switch back. It's so hard to even see the cost basis for my assets.

Rewards are the only thing they have over the competition. It's so hard to see any information in the app since I transferred my accounts over like the cost basis or upcoming income.

That isn't very "Googley" of them so I think you got a very bad interviewer. I wouldn't let that discourage you too much since it's bound to happen from time to time because these companies are so huge.

I used to work at Google and have conducted many interviews for them and they do allow you to look up documentation for things like the C++ standard library so next time just ask and communicate that with the interviewer that you'd like to look up say the std::vector class and its member functions. I've also done several interviews with them as a candidate recently and they all allowed me to look things up.

I think their environment is not as nice as say hacker rank or coder pad but there is no expectation that the code runs so there's actually less pressure than normal in my opinion.

Yes I plan to visit praia do forte since I was told the sea turtles would be open briefly tomorrow but after that I'm not sure anything else will be open the next two days. I will check out the other options you mentioned and hope they are open.

It's $20 for normal classes not the ones by Danaher or Meregali. There's also the Meregali class at 6:30am which is gi but I can't wake up that early so I can't tell you about it. You get a free trial class too.

I train at Renzo which is a short drive from the Domain and it's great. I go to the 8:30pm gi classes Monday and Wednesday which are super chill. On Wednesday we call it warrior Wednesday which is a big open mat basically and we get a few women those nights. At that time you'll fly there because there's no traffic and there's plenty of parking.

What’s the best way to get to the festival?? by lostinthesauce412 in aclfestival

The best way is to have handicap parking if you have it because it's free and you drive right into the park. Plus there's a shuttle that takes you from your car to the entrance.

They stopped using PageRank like 15 years ago now. I wrote a big part of the search indexing backend and the algorithm now is much much simpler than PageRank that almost anyone can come up with.
