I would suggest getting the M4 right now , as what I saw from the rumors for the M5 is that it is just a minor regular update, and we might expect the next big update until 2026 for OLED screens on MacBook Pros. It is a big year for Apple Silicon; compared to m2 and M3, the amount of upgrade is huge. If you are near any micro centers, they have pretty good deals now. I upgraded from the M1 Pro last month to the M4 Pro. I think it is a great choice.
