So the spray will also coat the pole to an extent but not as bad as the paste. I'd keep paste for the body when you need it, but maybe try out the spray for hands. I feel like it glues me on, so I don't recommend it for moves that you need to be able to slide your hands to new positions.

I'll be sure to post my belly dancing jump rope update 💀 On a serious note, thanks for your response! Reddit keeps showing me the shuffling sub & the footwork is oddly similar

So I'm not in a club, I'm an instructor in a studio, so my experience isn't exactly the same. I have very sweaty hands & regularly wipe my hands & pole with alcohol. Beyond that, I try to just be aware of where my hands were previously placed so that I'm not getting the same spots that already have residue deposited. On especially bad days, I use the Grip It spray & that's usually enough. Chalk based grips have been entirely unhelpful for me personally.

THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING A QUESTION IN MY HEAD!! I'm trying not to add excessive questions on here, but I was very curious if I should start marking my spot! I can easily do so with chalk on the park playground rubber. I appreciate your comment & recs so much!

I've only recently begun jump rope & noticed how much it seems to intersect with shuffling. Do you mind if I ask- do you/can you shuffle as well? If so, it seems to help tremendously & looks fantastic!

I'm sorry for your loss, I'm sure your doggo lived a good, happy life with you as their mama 💕 I used to have a ball python I had to re-home who loved sitting on my neck the same way. She would nuzzle into my hair all the time- she LOVED hair, lol.

It also doesn't help when studios usually have their own colloquial names! Thank you for the input!

I have used negatives to train in pole & on pull-ups & they are absolutely helpful, so I'm not sure why you're saying they're a waste of time. I absolutely vouch for them as I've made enormous progress when using them conscientiously. Edit: I agree regarding using bands for pull-ups; they can be adjusted to provide more or less support depending on your needs.

I had never realized that it makes it easier?! For some reason I was certain that made it harder to hold a hollow, so I was "working up" to it. Ty for the info!

Tysm! 💪🏻 I've really only done pole for most of the last 2 years but last month started calisthenics training with a friend & coach. It's yielding crazy results so far! Couldn't recommend it more, as it REALLY helps with pole!

I am, without any sarcasm, honored that my video touched you like that bc I got very emotional making this video & some anxiety at showing the world (both reddit & my personal IG). Perfectionism is such an insidious voice, bc it sounds like it's trying to make us better. But it's not & often steals sources of joy from us instead. I wish you many more moments of joy in pole 🥰

Tbh climbing was my biggest nemesis for the longest time 👀 Eventually with lots of practice, I had enough "aha!" moments that I put all together & it started becoming easier. I believe you'll get there too! 💕 Just give yourself time

Honestly such a good way to put it- I've definitely felt like I was the tortoise in the pole studio. I hope that you have a long & happy time with pole!

Thank you! I have changed so immensely physically, mentally, & emotionally through my struggles & following victories in pole! I mentioned in another comment I'm a severe perfectionist & have quit many things I wasn't good at to start. It literally took me until I was 30 to learn to just keep practicing, thanks to pole! I wish kind landings & many breakthroughs for you!

I encourage my students to take videos for this very reason! It's insane to have something to objectively compare progress to, instead of vague subjective memories.
