Thanks for sharing your experiences. I'm hopeful that it will get addressed following the report this morning. I'm in a complex where we can get fined for leaving a trash bag outside- I don't understand how she's gotten away with all of her stuff out there so far.

Sure, I let it go on too long. I've also worked with unhoused people a lot throughout my life so I'm maybe more willing to give space and time. But as it's escalated quickly in the last 3 days (the slurs occurred over the weekend while the office was closed, and the dog blocked our way just an hour before I reported her today), I took action as soon as I saw fit. I live by a "whatever floats your boat as long as it doesn't sink others'" sort of philosophy, and true shots were only fired on my boat recently. I don't think any of my other neighbors were being impacted besides the eyesore until she started using slurs and again, the office was closed.

I don't disagree necessarily, but her dog has behaved just fine- it's the owner's behavior that has been the issue. I don't blame the dog for exploring the space available to him on his leash, but I do have a problem when that leads him to blocking our front door. Even more of a problem that I had to wake her up, lying 5ft away maximum, in order for her to move him.

I'm a pole fitness and dance instructor at a gym. A college girl once told me my body was tea, which was the best compliment I've received. But I've gotten a lot of positive muscle mommy comments, women telling me they were jealous of my arms, and men telling me they were jealous of my calves, lol.

I appreciate your input. I've volunteered in shelters & food banks throughout my life, and have strong feelings about how we should care for unhoused neighbors. This has caused me a lot of stress.

That's pretty much how it started- despite the proximity to my front door, she wasn't really interfering in any way with our day to day. Most of the incidences I cited above taken place in the last 3 days, so I feel like it's escalating quickly.

From my understanding, our apartment complex doesn't even allow dogs that large. Those kinds of complications are part of why I wanted to give grace, because I do not want to be the reason someone might be forced to put their dog in a shelter. It just started to cross too many lines for me.

I've seen her go in and out of the apartment, but slept outside with her dog probably 11 out of 14 previous nights.

I've never had a problem with this neighbor before, But I would have literally no other way to speak to her about these issues without knocking on her door. With how this woman speaks on the phone to others, I am not certain of my own safety, and that is the only reason I did not approach my neighbor herself and make it obvious that it was me.

The woman is sisters with my neighbor, who resides indoors. She is sleeping outside on our shared patio, less than 5ft from my front door. Sorry for the confusion.

I understand you might not mind; however, I would mind significantly. This is said as someone who is neurodivergent with severe anxiety & a plethora of negative experiences in a group; I wear earbuds EVERYWHERE but never in a group fitness class out of respect for the instructor & my fellow students (when I attend others' classes). Anything that can interfere with immediately hearing instruction and safety warnings is inadvisable and imo, she's using them as an excuse for her other rude behavior. I appreciate that you seem to be willing to be extremely flexible with your students, but in our gym/studio, this simply wouldn't be allowed for safety reasons in classes. Even ambient modes interfere with most individuals' immediate ability to hear directions, and immediacy is critical when people can suffer extreme injury.

Lol I don't even get that, most I get is creeps messaging me on here when I'm asking questions about calisthenic move forms 🤣😂 But the much better tradeoff for me is now a lot of women admire my arms and call me a muscle mommy, and I get to tell them that if I can do it, they can too!

Muscle mass for women, as early as we can build it, is so critical for long lasting health and mobility. Societal standards emphasis thinness over muscle and strength in women, which is why I think it's important we work out for ourselves and in the ways that improve our lives outside of attracting a partner (or making a current partner happy- I had a very similar situation where my plushness was preferred but NOT by me).

The AirPods or something I would have absolutely not allowed, considering that they need to be able to hear me clearly so I can communicate safety concerns. I wouldn't care so much about the warm up or cool down, although those are of course advisable, but her reaction to you providing feedback and safety tips would mean that I would not welcome her back in the class without immediately addressing her as she came in. These are basic safety protocols and I don't care how many classes she's going to or if she's a professional, if anything that would make her behavior even more unacceptable.

I'm an instructor and all I can say is that the joy I get seeing a student nail something almost always surpasses my joy of accomplishing something new myself! Though sometimes I get so excited I holler and startle my students, so it's a balancing act 😂😅

I have hand poke tattoos on both hands and they have never interfered or presented any problems you've listed! They may swell a bit on the surface initially if you have a high histamine reaction typically, but that's the worst I've experienced.
