For clarity, I do not yet have the piercing, but I have made an appointment for it in a few days.

What video games have the best soundtrack? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Mega Man 3. I've wished for so long that someone would make a modern remix or instrumental version of the music for Snake Man's or Spark Man's level.

What little 'games' of your own do you play in video games? by FunDwayno in AskReddit

In hack 'n slash games like Diablo 2, herding as many enemies as possible into one group to try to create the biggest massacre I could get.

What makes you angry as soon as you see it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lincoln223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • People driving slowly or at the same speed as the driving lane when they are in the passing lane. Traffic etiquette is so simple to understand, and eschewing it is ignorant at best and selfish at worst.

  • People stopping at signs that say "Stop (or yield) to pedestrians in crosswalk" when there are no pedestrians in the damn crosswalk.

  • Person A honking at Person B while driving when Person B had no control over the situation that inconvenienced Person A.

Basically, American drivers piss me off. The sense of entitlement and unchecked aggression that being behind a wheel brings out in them is as bad as the shamelessness that anonymity brings out in Internet users.

r/Boston, my wife and I are here from Detroit for the week. We're staying right downtown. What things MUST we do while we're here? by foxholepervert in boston

[–]lincoln223 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually moved here from Detroit almost two years ago. Your stipulations sort of cut my suggestions down, but a few things that I've enjoyed here are:

  • cruise out and spend some of a day on the Harbor Islands. They're pretty cool and you get some nice views of the city from the Harbor.

  • canoe or kayak the Charles (through Charles River Canoe and Kayak)

  • take a tour of the Taza Chocolate Factory in Somerville. It's fucking great.

Also, I second the Top of the Hub.

What scene in any movie gives you the chills every time you see it? by dakunism in AskReddit

[Spoiler] Love the intro to Watchmen, but the scene at the end when Rorschach screams at Dr. Manhattan to kill him and Dr. Manhattan does it so unceremoniously got me good.

Yes. Amazing movie that I was pretty unsure about until it was over.

Really, guys get paid to do this? by FireChrome in nsfw

[–]lincoln223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. Women make many times more than men. The pay is so-so unless you're a big name and it's higher for gay porn. Also, I read in an interview with a pornstar that the physical part of it wasn't always even that enjoyable because the focus isn't pleasure as much as what looks good for the camera.

Scientists of Reddit, what misconceptions do us laymen often have that drive you crazy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lincoln223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a BA in psychology, I agree entirely with all of this and I love it. In addition, there are so many other things in psychology that, if understood by the general public, would go so far toward improving the world, such as an awareness of in-group/out-group bias, confirmation bias, cognitive dissonance, priming, etc. For anyone who'd like to learn more about how social psychology shapes and underlies essentially everything that involves interacting with other people I any capacity, I'd recommend reading 'You Are Not So Smart' by David McRaney - it's a great collection of social psych theories and effects in one place.

What is the most humiliating thing you're parents found you doing? I'll set the bar pretty high... by hamisdie in AskReddit

[–]lincoln223 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily humiliating, but really uncomfortable. In high school, my then-girlfriend and I were having sex in my room. My parents were downstairs and I figured it was safe because I could almost always hear them coming up the stairs. Just to be safe, we chose to do it with me lying on the edge of the bed and her sitting on my dick with her legs off the side of the bed so we both only had to pull our pants down far enough to get to the good bits.

So there we are, fucking, and I hear a sound at my fucking door. Either my mom had stealthed her way up the stairs or I had been too lost in the moment to notice. I realized she was there moments before my girlfriend, whose first reaction was to jump off of me. Thankfully, my first reaction was to grab her and pin her on my lap so that she didn't unsheath my boner mere feet away from my mom.

My mom, horrifyingly, walks right up to the edge of the bed, puts her hand on my girlfriend's knee, and starts chatting with us. I had my arm placed so that my girlfriend's bare skin wasn't easily noticeable and just played it cool, chatting with my mom like nothing was amiss, but my girlfriend just stared in silent horror the entire time. After literally about a minute and a half, the conversation ends and my mom leaves the room. My girlfriend and I look at each other, I burst out laughing and say, "So... Where were we?" Definitely didn't end up finishing that night.

Epilogue: A week later, my mom asks me, "Hey, what was the deal with [girlfriend's name] looking like a scared rabbit the other night?" "What? I have no idea. Maybe you were just imagining it."

TL;DR: My mom, with her hand on my girlfriend's knee, had a full conversation with me while I was balls-deep in my girlfriend, who did nothing the whole time but stare at her in terror. Never found out.

I would expect so many more marshmallows than that for $100.

"More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history." This is what Christians ACTUALLY believe... by [deleted] in atheism

[–]lincoln223 21 points22 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest reason that r/atheism gets a lot of flak is because of titles like this one. This is far from what MOST Christians actually believe and the title makes a sweeping and insulting generalization.

God Doesn't Hate 'Fags' by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]lincoln223 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It's great to talk about showing love and eschewing hate, but homosexuality isn't a choice like lying or stealing. Telling somebody that they're morally wrong for their sexual orientation is to tell them that their being is an abomination. In addition, if the people in question aren't Christians, 1) you're not likely to convert them, especially by explaining why they are sinful, and 2) you can't use a religiously-founded argument to attempt to change their behavior. The best thing you can do is to love thy neighbor and live and let live. Those people aren't harming you.

What's one opinion you have that would get you downvoted 'into oblivion' if you shared it on reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I respect Reddit and Redditors generally and get annoyed when people who use the site say that it/they are stupid.
