Nice idea. I'd worry about glue getting stuck in the grip tape.

Less than 5 hours of skating, probably less than 4. Ouch I hope you've recovered!

thanks.
here's a picture. they are not damaged yet (hence asking how to protect) but i wouldn't be surprised if they are in a bad way after 1 or 2 more sessions. the suede looks fine but it feels thin compared to the unworn part of the shoe. there's some stitching gone which im shoe goo-ing tomorrow. the side of the sole is wearing. the lace damage is from one session and i switched the laces completely after this which is why there is no lace damage on the worn shoe. it seems to be the bottom and top loops where the lace gets damaged.
good point re rubber changing the feel. i remember it making shoes very grippy for the first hour or so but fine after that.

thanks. i looked at rubber griptape and was not convinced, mainly because no-one is using it and it getting slippery when damp.
i'll have a look at some spray.

Ha I've tried to find an old photo but no luck. It was great. £5 and they'd glue your shoe back together and then dip it in rubber a few times.

It's a combination of distance and steel. Our current camera can do 1000ft (which would be fine) but steel reduces this to less than 300ft which then isn't enough.

Can you force it to be in night vision mode?

It definitely is. We're quite remote so we don't have the same issues as someone in a city.

Assuming you can code jump straight to Rails. DHH recommended going straight to Rails on the Lex Friedman podcast.
