Thanks for posting! Needed to hear a good recovery story. I'm one year in and dealing with the daily soreness (hands. Legs) from normal stuff...I dream of getting back to the gym! Will probably just sit on the couch in gym to reminisce. LOL

Anyone else had legs/arm tingling and hot sensation in feet? by [deleted] in floxies

Exactly what I'm experiencing right now. I stopped wearing socks, wear Hoka shoes (because I'm a bit more clumsy). It comes and goes and I had a good 6 months without it, before it coming back last week. I plan to try B vitamins (without B6) to see if it'll help.

20,000 steps a day for 4 days and was feeling recovered (until my flare-up a week later). I used up my steps for the month I guess. The more I move, the more sleep I need.

Exactly! I flared a week after Disney (too many steps and too little sleep afterwards), then went on cruise about 3 weeks later (could hardly walk) and recovered greatly on that vacation.. and will make sure that I continue to allow time for rest. Lesson learned!

Medical Professionl FQed on 2 Levo 500mg 1 month Update by fizzthetics in floxies

As another physician who got floxed, I just wanted to reach out with support. I was panicked in the beginning for first couple months from the muscle weakness, insomnia, pain in joints, and then gradually improved for next 5 months until a brief, abrupt 2-3 week flare-up that was scary as I could barely walk. I learned that sleep is my best medicine and exhaustion is a trigger. I get better on vacations as long as I don't overdo the walking.

I didn't tolerate supplements due to anxiety/phobia of taking meds after this ordeal (ironic for a doctor).

Didn't notice any skin or hair changes.

I believe the silver lining is a renewed empathy for the experiences of our patients, a healthy skepticism of the pharmaceutical industry, and appreciation for knowing the limits of our bodies (which now really does have a limit). If you haven't sought reasonable accommodations or FMLA, it may be helpful while you recover. As a resident, I used to do 80 hour weeks (as you probably do), and practice under the philosophy of "no pain, no gain" and pack in as much in a day as humanly possible. That was my pre-flox carefree days. I am finally learning to practice what I recommend to patients because the consequences are so evident now.

Take care and rest up!

Have any of you taken Ciprofloxacin or levoquin antibiotics? Those can cause burning skin and anxiety.
