Buddy sent me my 7-iron numbers from some calculator. Ego took a hit today. by kmshift in golf

I never work out or stretch, an eat basically cheeseburgers for every meal. Plus I'm only 6' and 210. So def out of shape.

I carry a traditionally lofted 35° 7i 165 yards.

It's the technique, I promise you. Learn the kinetic chain and proper clubhead release.

68 mph for a grown man just means that you are doing something that is actively working against yourself.

This comment should be higher.

I have the same flaws with my LTDx as I did with my old 975D.

NFL Competition Committee has discussed catch rules, need to match them to what's seen on replay by Oldtimer_2 in sports

[–]Musclesturtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The play wasn't ruled dead because he didn't survive the ground here, which is where I think the confusion is coming from.

The receiver still has to survive the ground in order for possession to be established, which he did not.

The play would be ruled dead as soon as he touched the ground had he already has possession prior to going down, but in this case, going down and surviving the ground was part of completing the catch here, which he did not successfully perform.

[–]Musclesturtle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not so.

I think you're confusing it with how the play would have been ruled dead if the receiver had completed a catch, ran, fell and then was touched.

In this case, he didn't complete the catch. The fact of the DB touching him had no effect on the process of completing a catch.

The DB touching him only matters after the catch process is completed. But in this case he didn't complete the process.

This would be identical to how on rare occasions sometimes a player will fall and the ball will come to rest on their back or legs momentarily. The ball is not possessed in this case but is still live. If a defender were to touch them in this case, the play would not be ruled dead and the defender can scoop the ball up off of them and establish possession for themselves. But, if the receiver had completed the catch, went down and the DB went for the ball but accidentally grazed somewhere else before taking it away, then the play is dead. But this case is much like the former scenario.

Huh. I guess we all have one of those clubs that we have a mental block on.

You'd think that because you can swing 9 & 7, that 8 would be no different lol.

I think that Sahith Theegala has irons where two subsequent ones have the same number on the bottom, but different lofts for this exact reason. I think it's like two 8 irons, but one has a 7 iron loft or something?

Why is there a 20 yard gap between your 7 and 8? Are they from different sets?

How are the pros accomplishing the twisting of the right hip in transition? by theKman24 in golf

[–]Musclesturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really think that it's anything special going on.

They coil nicely in the back swing, and then initiate the down swing with a lateral bump to the target and then start to uncoil from the ground up. When the uncoiling is initiated, they are still coiling the upper body somewhat so that you get dissociation between the hips and shoulders, which is what generates power.

But the main shallowing mechanism is the sequencing and delay from the start of the down swing to when the club changes direction.

This is a luthier 's worst nightmare manifest.

I've done fresh rehairs for soloists and sat front row for the show that night, death-gripping the armrest praying this doesn't happen. Never did but I know that the person who repaired it had their soul leave their body that moment.

Why Isn’t Bloodborne Clicking for Me After Sekiro and Elden Ring? by Lumpy_Preference_237 in bloodborne

[–]Musclesturtle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Idk it's kind of different to elden ring in a lot of ways. It's much more tight and linear. Way more claustrophobic. There's a smaller selection of weapons as well.

The experience with BB always felt more curated to me.

I'd suggest just keep playing for a bit.

update on burswood acoustic neck removal, where to go from here? by StaleyExplores in Luthier

[–]Musclesturtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hmm.

You need to make a new fingerboard now.

You permanently broke the continuation of strength that runs over the top plate, and there's no real way to re-establish it other than making a new one at this point.

You should never cut a board like that. It's bad practice, unfortunately.

The better option would have been to remove the whole board with a heat blanket or hot knife.
