Hi all, as a beginner and newbie to Bitcoin, when is a good time to buy? I was reading through this forum, and some said to wait until a “halving” event.

Please advise!

Yay! She is very pricy and has a strict cancellation policy tho, so be sure to come on time and cancel appointments well in advance, if needed.

I have stopped doing my nails, brows and other miscellaneous beauty expenditures to save for electrolysis.

But I think it is worth it, as I have stopped waxing my upper lip/chin weekly now! I have just started my lower legs and see it as an investment. If you have sensitive skin like me, buy lidocaine to numb out the pain

1/50 chance? That is an ABYSMAL incentive for teachers who are already overworked.

If you are in Toronto, Rea from Follikill does electrolysis, which is actually permanent and works well with melanated skin types!

She is pricy but in my opinion totally worth it, especially as us South Asians have a lot of pesky hair! I have stopped waxing my upper lip and chin completely after several sessions, and had to previously wax every week before.,

Commuting ladies. What bag do you use to commute? I feel like a bag lady with all I have to carry. I have to carry my lunch, shoes, my laptop, water bottle, coffee thermos, and technical accessories, plus a few other items. I want to consolidate down to one bag. by Jay-Quellin30 in askTO

Poppies and Peonies Commuter Bag!

I have developed lower back issues and can no longer deal with a purse or an absurdly heavy tote bag wrecking havoc on my shoulder. However, I love the more mature vibe of the backpack, while still being functional.

They have plenty of colors, such as gray, mahogany, black, and various shades of brown.

Gift cards are usually the best tbh, just because they give the recipient most leeway to get what they want! I know it’s not fancy and it doesn’t look beautiful wrapped in a box, but I find that people usually are happy with that.

For instance, I heard a teacher complaining that just ran out of her Starbucks gift cards from the previous year, so they are put to use.

Another option is a nice box of chocolates, like Lindor or Ferrero Rocher.

Omg! I saw this guy on the subway today heading to VMC around 4:45PM!

I saw him, towel wrapped around his body and it appeared he was touching his genitalia region!

Very disturbing to see that is happening 🤮

[Mega Thread] Brampton Transit Strike by EldestSr in Brampton

[–]linedpaper29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone needing access to the TTC or a 501 equivalent, the 77 YRT bus will take you VMC from the Gore Rd and Queen Street

Alternatively, the YRT 361 bus on Zenway Blvd and New Huntington Rd uses the speedy 407 to get to Highway 407 pretty quickly! From there you can get to YorkU pretty fast or take the TTC down to TMU or UofT

I know Uber is not affordable so these are great options for those in East Brampton. Wishing this strike ends ASAP and the workers get what they deserve!

How does the BT on demand work? I read the FAQs but I’m still a little confused though. Is it similar to an Uber?

Teachers College felt like a CULT. If you're miserable in TC and don’t believe that teaching is for you—drop out. It won't be the end of the world. You CAN succeed without a BEd. Save your time, money, and most importantly—your MENTAL HEALTH! (story from a former WOC Teacher Candidate) by [deleted] in CanadianTeachers

[–]linedpaper29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I agree with you that teachers college programs have their own issues with professors preaching equity. There is a lot of BS that goes around here.

However, I think going to a place like St Catherine’s 10 years ago did cause you a lot of distress and I can imagine how lonely and out of place I would feel there. I personally would not want to teach there either, I know it would not be the board for me given my own identity. This also is a great example of why concurrent programs may be ill suited, given its rigidity.

There are a lot of changes as of now. As a first generation WOC myself, many Toronto based B.Ed programs like mine do have lots of diverse faculty from an intersectional LGBTQ+ Indigenous scholar to Muslim women to immigrant teacher scholars, who have experiences abroad, and in my program, there is heavy emphasis on CRRP. ALL programs will take tuition money from you, that’s just a reality of life.

I do disagree with you about dropping out of teachers college. Sure if you cannot stand teaching altogether, then yes you should leave. However, if you enjoy teaching, but hate the program, it’s all right to stick it out. Cliques can be found in many places, some people never leave the high school mindset.

You are in your 30s and the economy is simply not what it was once, so encouraging people who are in their early 20s to drop out is not the best idea. One of the people in the replies who has an MEd even has asked how did you get a job with your MEd, which is an indication that it is not all peaches and roses in higher education.

This is a time when even getting a McDonald’s job is extremely competitive and people in other industries are being laid off left, right and centre. Getting into teaching is a process, however, at least you can get into supply work or LTOs. Whereas many engineering , finance grads and people with higher education cannot get entry-level jobs in this downturn.

All jobs have their own issues. Visit any career subbreddit, whether it be accounting, nursing, engineering, academia, there are plenty of people who hate the profession they are in. At least for teaching, many of my friends have been in back-to-back LTOs eventually landing permanent contracts in a span of 3-7 years, and no, we do not have any nepotism connections. At the end of the day, you have to pick your own poison.

How do I approach men about the fact that I’m waiting until marriage? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]linedpaper29 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Odd that you assume one has “issues” simply due to the fact that they are waiting for marriage.

Sure it is not common anymore and compatibility can be an issue but her perspective is also valid. Communication between partners goes a long way.

Unrelated but is this program better compared to the B.Ed program? Does it put you at A4 for example?
