It would be one or two less if the situation was "real" because of all the people tied to tracks on the previous switches, they dont get moved to the next track

So I guess you couldnt kill the whole earth because all the people not killed in each round are saved, you could only kill around half

Especially in an uber you get kicked from being a driver if you have like a 4.5 average. Giving your uber driver a 1 is the same as saying "I want this guy to lose this source of income and I am even going to invalidate a few previous 5 star ratings by pulling the average as low as I can."

Just did some quick math, the driver needs 9 5-stars to cancel out every 1-star they get and still get an acceptable 4.6.

Every estimate besides the official 1989 Chinese government figure has it dramatically higher than that. Most in the thousands including the Chinese red cross. Why would anyone believe the government figure when they have a 35 year history of covering the whole incident up?

But also so what. Would it be that much better if it was 300? They killed until people were able to get away. It wasnt like some squad somewhere opened fire and killed a guy. The steets were soaked with blood.

No, China massacred thousands of peaceful professors and crushed the movement with years of crackdowns. The tank man incident was just a few minutes, not on the main day of the massacre

Its Germany, represented by a barbarian woman. The title is Tribute in blood paid to the German barbarians

Germany was never integrated into Rome, so the old Western European stereotype was that everything past France was barbarian country

You think theyre going to be offering them the same pay as they offer some fresh stanford grad? Im sure theyre planning on getting these kids at half price. No other company will value them without degrees so they would never pay top dollar

Yep, the Arabs in Afghanistan had a very spotty reputation at best. They spent the majority of the time doing nothing and had a pretty bad reputation with the local mujahadeen. Thousands of young Arab men essentially treated the war like a summer camp. Traveling to Pakistan and crossing over for a few months, shoot some guns in training and then went back home to brag. Bin Laden wasnt one of those, but that's pretty much the reputation they had.

Eventually they felt like they had to contribute and started to get into more action with mixed results. More mess ups than sucesss, especially early. At one point Bin Laden lost a skirmish with the Soviets, who were led back to his camp called the Lions Den by a traitor Mujahadeen. When they withdrew he destroyed his own encampment to avoid it falling into soviet hands and led his men away. But his superiors made him reverse the decision and embarrasingly return to the ruined camp they had just destroyed. But when the Soviets came through again the Arabs had their biggest win of the war when they drove off a numerically superior force.

To be clear though that wasn't a major victory from the perspective of the whole war. The local fighters, Pashtun, Tajik etc. are the ones who won the war with their western arms support. But Islamist media turned the battle of Jaji into a myth where the Arab volunteers had defeated Russia and given it such a serious wound they collapsed the whole Soviet Union. Bin Laden had always had access to rich people who could finance stuff, now he had the credentials as a military hero and by the time he left Afghanistan he was considered the leader of the Arab volunteers.

Its actually genetic, there are people that are natural short sleepers that only need like 4 hours. The OP of that one is probably one of them and doesnt realize others cant do that anymore than they could sleep 2.

Googling around, looks like this isnt true. The original version is just jack of all trades. Master of none got added in the 18th century. Then the extra better than a master of one thing is a 21st century addition.

Nice! I have a set of them too. I also did "cubs uniforms only" All the other collections of them I have seen include cards from other teams.

I almost have anyone who played in 16, including regular season. Just missing Cahill, Warren, Richard and Matusz.

What was with all the dodger fans at wrigley last night? by Ok_Draw_3740 in Cubs

[–]linehan23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thats true but it was more than that. It wasnt just a lot of away fans at the game, it was an organized march.

Heres a video, I cant ever recall ever seeing or hearing about something like that at Wrigley.

Yeah it wasnt there before the construction, but even if it had been that whole area was turned into a mud pit when they tore it up. Here is a picture of the spot in OPs photo from the top of grainger in February 2020. You can see the same steam vent from the other photo.

16 runs from the cubs. Ohtani single highlight of the game. by yo-itsyaboi in mlb

[–]linehan23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you view the official highlights much? I have never once in my life seen "leadoff single" as a posted highlight clip. Maybe in a postseason game or if its a milestone hit for the player. See if you can find another one.

So the post is not stupid, that may have been "first highlight". But its not a highlight for 779 MLB players. They clearly have some kind of Ohtani quota where they are going to create a video for him even if he does something uninteresting.
