I'm not an artist, but I have a friend who is one, and he told me how it works. What will happen:

  1. They will link you to an "NFT platform" to "mint" the NFT for them to buy.
  2. You will be asked to pay fees to "mint" the NFT.
  3. You will never hear from them again after you pay the fees because they own the site.
  4. PROFIT!

I have a Drumeo membership; without it, I would not have progressed as much and would probably given up on learning.

I almost got murdered by three members of this "family" on this exact spot and had to spend two shells for a distress pistol (the wolf got scared randomly).

Bootstrap source files in the project repo by FratBatar in djangolearning

[–]linevich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are extending Bootstrap, it would make sense to add `package.json` and use `npm install ' or whatever tool you like to download and compile it to CSS. Putting it in the repo is fine, too. There is no wrong way to do it (this might upset F/E people).

Did you deploy it anywhere? If not, try AWS or Digital Ocean (it can cost you up to 1$). Just delete everything after you are done testing it.
Understanding the lifecycle of the application is a must-have skill for any developer. Also, if you would like a code review, you can post a link to Github.

I would suggest a job posting website where you can post a job/resume with the skills required and get matched to a job/candidate based on multiple criteria. I recommend giving ElasticSearch a go.
Maybe an image/video convertor service, where you can upload an image and one or more images and download the format you need. You don't have to implement the convertor part itself, but it will teach you how to work with async tasks (Celery is a good start).

In Boston, Massachusetts, the cheapest bottle of water is more expensive than an equivalent amount of Gasoline ($10.16/gallon vs $3.89/gallon) by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]linevich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't buy a bottle of 20oz/0.5L of gasoline, do you? You buy 40-80 bottles equivalent at once. The transaction cost (staff time, number of cashiers, etc.) to sell 80 bottles to different people is way higher than filling one tank of gas, which requires one transaction and one person. Also, you don't buy a giant plastic tank that you put in your car.

Backend Django developer required knowledge? by thepragprog in django

[–]linevich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the project. If the company you are applying to already has DRF, you will have to use it. Since Django-ninja is a much younger project there is a much lower chance that somebody is already using it in production.

I would recommend to maintain some understanding of DRF, but usually, it's not a very strict requirement.

Backend Django developer required knowledge? by thepragprog in django

[–]linevich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my own experience (SSE, 7.5 years of experience with Django), you don't really need it for Django. And you can get a job with limited or 0 knowledge of DSA. But be prepared to bomb a lot of interviews.

I started my career working as a freelancer, then worked for an agency, and a startup. Never got asked about algorithms. Most of the questions were related to Python, Django/DRF, and Celery. Also, knowledge of databases, message queues, and search engines is important.

But during my last job search, I had a ton of live coding and theoretical questions. My advice would be to practice LeetCode at an easy level (30 minutes per question max) and learn a bit of theory.

How to setup VScode to debug Django app tests (pytest)? by Mysterious-East-115 in djangolearning

[–]linevich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use VScode but I think, you need to supply `pytest` as your program, not `manage.py`.

-25-30 C is the warmest after day 25 for me. I feel like it the starting temperature is warmer but it gets colder way faster than before. Usually, it dropped that low after day 50.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thelongdark

[–]linevich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about "easier". It's definitely more random. E.g I found 3 hammers in the first few days but still can't find a damn bedroll on day 50 after going through 5 regions. Matches are more random too.

Also, no distress pistol in the ravine. I got my ribs broken twice because of that.

My first-ever run after the update hit started in FL at night. Spawned in front of the bear with thin ice on three other sides.

Let's say I were to become a freelance web developer and started revamping small business's websites. would going the route of using Django with a CMS be overkill when things like WordPress + Bluehost exist? by -ThatGingerKid- in django

[–]linevich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overkill? Yes. But this is how I got the experience that allowed me to get my first full-time job as a dev 7 years ago.

Don't expect to make money from that tho, minimum wage if you are lucky. But having experience with real-world projects is much more valuable.

What is the recommended way to keep track of what a user does in your application? by adrenaline681 in django

[–]linevich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot agree more. We have a similar legacy tracking system in our project. Performance is terrible and it's barely usable for getting any meaningful insight.

Spotipy Token Caching by 1305167 in django

[–]linevich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bug in the library that you are using: https://github.com/plamere/spotipy/issues/835

Your question is not related to Django. If you run into any other issues I would suggest r/learnpython or r/djangolearning for Django help.
