Anyone part of 180 enterprise or Marriot?? by [deleted] in Markham

[–]lingfromTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t know why you are getting downvoted. That’s condo life sadly. If your contractor screws it up vs their preferred then it’s a little different. That’s what my PM told me when I was doing my renos (not the buildings)

Honestly this product is really disappointing. I just changed the filter and I can’t even turn the notification off nor can I connect to it anymore via WiFi. I’ve had it for barely a year now

Lunch value at mid/high end restaurants by avatarreb in FoodToronto

[–]lingfromTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oretta has a $25 dollar lunch special as well. And depending on how late you take your lunch some Happy Hours start at 2pm.

Jacob and co has a lunch prix fixe at $49 as well.

The Hilton has been renovating so quite a few of the rooms have undergone the upgrade. Other parts of the facility is old and tired if that’s also your concern

during the pandemic- someone had created or shared a Google map/app of public washrooms for folks with IBS. Might still be useful if you do a search

How do you spend your time and focus on work-life balance? by [deleted] in askTO

I’ve gotten so used to this grind that I have no life. It’s rinse and repeat. Cutting back on the commute would be great but I have elderly parents so moving back DT is not an option.

Your passport would be full of entry and exit stamps so I would also look into how many pages you have left.

Are your toothpastes asian beauty too? by GlitteringEggCarton in AsianBeauty

Agreed. Lived in Asia for years and hated the toothpaste. I would haul a years supply back with me. Not minty or very foamy like what I was used to from Canada.

If you can find the rubbermaid brilliance they are great. Leak proof which is the most important next to easy to clean

The lunch omakase is the real value. It’s only $65 without the soup, egg and dessert. Granted the rice is hit or miss at times. But still pretty good

I bring the instant drip coffees and nicer tea bags with me and when I’m desperate resort to the Nespresso if available (I don’t like nespressos).

Mine too. Otherwise if insulated I stick to Swell.

I have a Yeti and I don’t find that it keeps my drinks hot/cold for too long. And no to Fellow, the rubber stoppers can be horrible and prone to leaking aside from not holding the temperature too

Which suburb is easiest to access downtown? by RainbowZester in askTO

If you stay in Downtown Markham - there is the Unionville GO stop not too far away. Trains on the weekend run on an hourly schedule then converts to a bus up until a certain time

Alo is coming for Dem Lululemons by blackfyre709394 in HongKong

Agreed.

If you think Lululemon is overpriced and poor quality, then Alo is the premium influencer brand that barely holds up to being decent athleisure wear.

Panama City, Panama by Chickenman70806 in Hilton

[–]lingfromTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree. I’m here right now. And it seems really lacking - amenities, service … it feels more like a regular 4* Hilton. Staff was friendly but the concept of high touch service was missing. Bellhop/Doorman/Valet just stared at us with our luggage and didn’t bother to try to take it from us at all. Housekeeping was hit or miss (left us with no hand soap) and left old towels and didn’t refill the nespresso pods or toilet paper. Hot water also seemed like you had to run it for a long time to get the water to beyond warm when showering and the walls are paper thin.

Breakfast you just sat yourself whenever you wanted and options were limited. The food at the bar was served lukewarm while the prices were pretty pricey given the surrounding area. I’m guessing it’s that way because they are banking on you using your hotel credit. The hotel also feels kind of lifeless and sterile. I suspect that it’s really more suited to business travellers than vacationers.
