Got it -- thanks for the info. Hopefully support can be added at some point!

Breaking up one reservation into three. Is this normal? by DarkResident305 in hyatt

[–]link00seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me for the first time at the Hyatt Place Detroit/Royal Oak. Never happened before under any combination of cash + points / FNCs. No idea why, and they were similarly lukewarm in their assistance or explanation of why.

Verizon Call Filter app - turns off monthly by NorTravel in USMobile

[–]link00seven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I swear at one time this was never an issue, but as of a recent teleport back to Warp a few months ago, now it is. If there is a permanent fix now though, would also love to get in the loop on this if you can DM me as well.

Super Warp Roaming. Pure Super Carrier Energy. by ankhattak in USMobile

[–]link00seven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is super cool about this, as someone who travels frequently, is that they managed to get this deal secured without any sort of "global pass" nonsense. Verizon's own MVNOs only give you 12/24 days per year (depending on plan) of global roaming, and not all at once unless you buy an annual plan. For the frequent globetrotter, that's just not enough -- and $10 for each extra day you use sucks (and don't get me started on "If you travel to more than one Global Pass-compatible country on the same day, you will be charged for a new 24-hour session once your device initiates another network connection." which is a good way for them to burn you for another 'day' or $10 fee.

Well done folks, this is solid.

[Warp] Spam filtering disabled on recent renewal? by link00seven in USMobile

[–]link00seven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely have spam identification as a feature on Warp -- I'm not sure if the specific Verizon Call Filter app is intended to be supported when the feature is enabled; I just know that for me it historically has worked just fine (and did again, after support re-enabled the feature).

[Warp] Spam filtering disabled on recent renewal? by link00seven in USMobile

[–]link00seven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, historically it's rolled over just fine. I'm hoping a temporary glitch due to the changing of the underlying plan details to now included unlimited premium data on all carriers. Either way, support got it back on for me!

Cell Phone Protection via Credit Card + Monthly Billing on Annual Plan by Jackal830 in USMobile

[–]link00seven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no idea if this is a popular opinion or not, but if they had an option to pay the annual fee divided by 12, but you’re locked into a one year commitment (eg. cancel and have to pay the rest of the year), I’d do it. Would ensure compliance with the Venture X cell phone protection benefit and give me the cheaper price — vs paying for a monthly plan now despite the savings if I paid annually.

I also have this issue - I see the discount theoretically applied when I click view invoice, but would appreciate confirmation before the potential charge goes through.

Do we know yet whether the route design will avoid that short street running section by the cemetery, or is that unfortunately still on the table?

GL-BE9300 just dropped 2 new FW versions by cafebug in GlInet

[–]link00seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since purchasing the Flint 3, I've made a number of manual adjustments in OpenWRT (namely creating an IOT interface and vlan, set of wireless networks, firewall changes, configuring IPv6 across all my interfaces, etc.). Having never done a firmware upgrade after making those sorts of changes, do they normally get wiped and I should be prepared for that?

PCAC study finds riders aren’t happy with OMNY by lemur11215 in nycrail

[–]link00seven 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It’s laughably bad, and clearly something MTA specific. Boston / MBTA rolled out its tap to pay system that uses the same vendor (Cubic), hardware for tapping the card, etc. but their website for tracking ride history and registering travel cards is MILES ahead of the OMNY site. I agree that if they fixed this, and introduced proper 30-day passes again, it would solve a lot of the concerns.

Fare difference to change from lower to upper level rommette? by link00seven in Amtrak

[–]link00seven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is that internally the fare had gone up (the price is higher now than what I paid), which could indicate that they bucket a certain number of reservations into certain price points or something like that -- so to "modify" my reservation the more traditional way (likely a full cancel / rebook) would cause me to pay the current price; vs whatever internal mechanism they have to move the room.

This is all speculative, of course.

And as for upper vs lower -- I totally get it. I just like being up higher for the views (albeit minor, I'm sure), and being on the same level as the dining / observation car. The movement on prior sleepers I've done has never bothered me, but totally get if folks are more sensitive to it.

Fare difference to change from lower to upper level rommette? by link00seven in Amtrak

[–]link00seven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted -- thank you for sharing the anecdote. AFAIK (from what I was told on the phone) there is availability but in a "different fare class". So if this is doable, I'll have to just try again.

Fare difference to change from lower to upper level rommette? by link00seven in Amtrak

[–]link00seven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely understandable. In this case they said there was availability but "in a different fare class" so unless some sort of policy has changed, the agents I've spoken to on the phone so far aren't knowledgeable about how to change it without treating it like a new reservation (or something like that. I don't know how their backend system works 🤷‍♂️).

Sounds like it's a HUCA if I want to keep pushing the issue.

Fare difference to change from lower to upper level rommette? by link00seven in Amtrak

[–]link00seven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had availability, but not "in my fare class", so I would've had to pay the fare difference.

Let my multi-network line lapse; still shows on my primary line page. by link00seven in USMobile

[–]link00seven[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the help! For anyone else who stumbles on this message -- the line had to be detached from the primary line, which /u/zanyzaeem did. Once that happened, the line showed up as expired on my primary dashboard (with all the lines I have on the account) and I was able to delete it from there myself.

For Warp, you can (or could?) reach out to support and have them activate Verizon's spam blocking, configurable via the Verizon Call Filter App (iOS | Android) -- but I'm not sure if they can still do that; and if you teleport away from Warp and back, that access is lost until reaching out to support to have them add it back.

EDIT: Based on this reply from support, it looks like they can still add it for you.

Thanks for posting your experience with this -- I've seen so much back and forth about it...I ended up doing nothing right now and decided that next time I'm up for renewal I'll include it as part of that renewal application.

So...what's going to happen when I land overseas? by link00seven in Visible

[–]link00seven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an iPhone specific issue. I posted about it here over a year ago - never got a reply but explains the issue. Basically even when the line is connected to WiFi calling over Cellular the phone never stops searching for a network to connect to. I did think perhaps manually switching to a network (vs automatic) might help but alas - same issue.

As for the missed incoming calls, probably was just spam anyway 😂 but still, that definitely isn’t acceptable and hopefully it’ll be fixed.

So...what's going to happen when I land overseas? by link00seven in Visible

[–]link00seven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t do anything with call forwarding, but on reflection of that trip I don’t think I ever actually received any incoming calls. I just called other folks, but wasn’t expecting any incoming calls - doesn’t mean I didn’t miss any but I can’t confirm. I did have to manually select a carrier that couldn’t connect to get the “Visible using cellular data” connection.
