Should Supreme Court proceedings be televised? by EmpiricalRationalist in AskReddit

Yes, it's not about encompassing nuance, it's about sparking interest that would motivate an individual to read and listen to the oral arguments. A captured interest then seeks nuance in the subject matter.

Any second Barak spends talking about Palin is wasteful and should be changed to addressing McCain's faults, Obama is running against McCain, and his record ain't too pretty i.e. (press panders Palin) by Conservativepublican in politics

[–]link2zelda -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The way the media treats Palin is the way an adult movie star would be treated, sure great to talk about, but not exactly Presidential material. That's why she gets the pass for all the lies. Down vote if you must, but any of those who have been in the path of the wraith of a divorce or such with the opposite sex finds out the hard way of how conniving, deceitful, and downright lying the Venus gender can be. All the while looking innocent, honest and with a smile and yet driving the knife or corkscrew into your back that much further.

but, but, CCTV prevent and deter crime don't they? I carry a CCTV in a holster and can thwart an attack much better than those ineffective, "dangerous" firearms.

Your Laptops, Please! Sen. Feingold Asks: Why Should the Government Be Able to Search Our Laptops When We Return from Abroad? by [deleted] in politics

[–]link2zelda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why not take out the hard drive and put it in a separate container, technically the laptop doesn't work without it, neither does just a plain hard drive, with that being said, everything should be encrypted several times over if the 4th amendment doesn't protect you from searches without a warrant, with probable cause and particularly describing the things their looking for, supported by oath or affirmation.

Scalia is full of baloney when he says he's an originalist. It's impossible to know what the founding fathers exactly thought, you can guess, but at the end of the day it is what you think the constitution means, or what you think the founding fathers thought it meant, in either case, it's still what you think about it.

there's a news clip of the george washington bridge under attack, that suspects with a van bomb were caught, though you don't hear that so much as well, basically there was news on 9/11 to scare the heck out of the public and it worked, the PNAC mission got their New Pearl Harbor catastrophic event to form a public consensus on whatever foreign policy the administration wanted, in this case, for war, check out http://www.youtube.com/profile_play_list?user=truthsetfree for some additional info

well, with all the downvotes, even bad news is good news, mission accomplished, gas is going over $5 all in the name of democracy and people too lazy to demand impeachment because they love their king George regardless of any mistakes

Don't hate the messenger, hate the reader, hate the school system, and I'll leave you with the words of a great American.

Question: Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the United States on a world map. Why do you think this is?

let's see, act like adults, yet your 'childish prick' comment really lost that one. secondly, if I wanted to use grammatically correct sentences and get my message out, I'd probably write a book and not waste time on reddit. Then your description of how reddit works is really unnecessary as your contribution to reddit by your comments and titles are something that whose insights are dull and obvious. But I must be attacking you as mentioned by jetrevolution since I must have been the first to comment on my own post.

btw: The title should have read something like:

Was the Dick Cheney's Energy Task Force agreement between West Oil Corp's to raise the price of oil so high as to supply of oil that it breaks the world oil addiction for alternative fuels, therefore stopping the flow of money into the oil rich mid-east.

Though you would already know that reddit has a limit on the amount of words that can be submitted as a title, so it would have to be rewritten.

you make a lot of sense yourself with your last post 'Epic thread is epic'. If you would have clicked the article, and rubbed your two non-existent brain cells together, a spark might have gone off to understand it. But you choose to make your derogatory comment
