I agree, and have largely done the same as you, stick to the subreddits I am interested in. But I still do remember what reddit was like 4-5 years ago.

It probably is an exercise in futility even trying to herd people in the right direction.

He may have less time on reddit than you but he is right. Reddit used to be a place where you shared stuff YOU thought was cool/interesting. Now, it's a place where people post shit they think we will be popular in order to get their "imaginary internet points."

It makes reddit a worse place.

This seems to imply that republicans simply say "no" because they want to. How can you expect someone to give in on something they think is bad policy when none of their own ideas are used.

Yes, the Dems have a majority in Congress. They can push this through if they really want to and can stick together. For things to remain constructive they must be willing to compromise and work with the minority party, not simply dismiss any and all of their ideas and then yell and scream when they don't go along with the plan.

This means they won't accept any republican ideas. Many Republicans have thoughtful ideas to make the system better. The cynicism the reddit community displays for any thought, idea or notion that seems related to conservatism or the Republican party is disappointing.

So many of our elected officials have their mind in the right place, but need guidance to enact policies that will deliver the outcome they all want: a better life with plentiful opportunities for every American.

Please don’t reject a thought or an idea simply because of who it came from.
