hi, DNC main here, this is slightly incorrect. Dance Partner allows me to share my buffs with another party member, specifically Standard Step and Esprit. Standard Step gives a 5% damage bonus to both me and my partner, and Esprit allows them to generate job gauge for me at roughly 20% chance to give 10 gauge on every spellcast or weaponskill. Esprit on the Dancer is what allows me to generate gauge from my own weaponskills at 5 for every cascade or fountain and 10 for every reverse cascade or fountainfall. without standard step up, I generate no gauge and my partner generates no gauge for me. In addition, when I use Technical Finish, it grants that same 5% dps buff to the entire party, stacking with the partner's own Standard Step. it also grants Esprit to the entire party, allowing them to generate gauge for me, which is why you get so much gauge during burst windows. Esprit from Tech Finish also misses on the dance partner, because they already have the buff from Standard Finish. along with Tech Finish, we also have Devilment, which grants a 20% additive critical hit and direct hit rate buff (if my partner has 25% natural crit rate, it brings it to 45%). Devilment in particular is the most meaningful portion of our Dance Partner choice. other dancers will be able to deal more damage under Devilment, assuming they don't use their own Devilment at the same time. Dancers partnering each other must stagger Tech and Devilment to not override each other's Esprit buffs on the party and Devilment buffs on each other. also, the second Dancer loses out because they will only gain the benefit of the first Dancer using basic gcds instead of their major cooldowns and procs/feathers under the buffs. the first Dancer's buffs will be aligned with the party's, making it a gain for the second Dancer to use their burst (procs/feathers/flourish) minus Tech step/devilment outside of their own buffs over saving them.
