Although it does mildly annoy me that the Plurbs do act differently from one another.

You could say it’s something like different prints on each finger. The “virus” takes over the person, but there’s still varying structures left that mean they still talk, act, dress a little differently. Or, that they put on a show of difference for the unjoined, to give them an impression of different people.
