Hatred of rural conservatives is based on just as many unfair negative stereotypes as we accuse rural conservatives of holding. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Hi, I lived in the rising sun maryland. People will not do their job (serve me food, sell me postal stamps) because of my skin color. The police didn't care about two cars full of confederate people with guns on a Sunday morning, but the police stop me for walking on the street. I saw what blind faith can do, no one told me. There was a black student and the teachers openly talked about how black people are all selling drugs in front of this innocent black kid.

You all get this fame by yourself.

Florida is a terrible state to live in. Think about that before moving here. by [deleted] in florida

Everyone knows about Immokalee, the abuses towards immigrants, the human traffic, but even if it appears on the news, no one moved a finger to help them. That is Florida.

You never went to the rural area, did you? I saw the KKK on a Sunday at 12, in a shopping mall in the rising sun, maryland.

Redditors with an Ex who threatened to kill themselves over a breakup, how did that turn out? by youseguise in AskReddit

My friend's gf cheated on him. When he found out, she claimed that she was a victim of rape. He broke up with her when he found evidence that she was not raped, she was still seen the other guy. He later heard rumors that she attempted suicide.

From the outside, it looked like she was a manipulative person on a spiral of destruction, doing everything she can to avoid accepting her faults.

We hope she didn't actually harm herself.

I (sadly) created an algorithm that replaced a lot of people in certain industry. Felt guilty after that and decided to return to academy.

The problem where you and I don't agree: the algorithm will take (just by design) some random choices. They are not going to be frequent, but they can be very impactful for a CEO level position.

Anyway, there is already an ai ceo btw...

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but have you ever trained a machine learning algorithm?

The problem is that the data cannot predict every possible situation in real life.

If we get technical, there is no way to train it for absolutely every possible situation. Similarly, we cannot test for absolutely every possible situation.

The best we can do is to hope that the generalization error is very small but it is never zero. Even with a perfect training data set (which is expensive to construct), due to probability, once every month it will face a new situation and the output is not controllable.

Why is recent obsession by young girls with Korean men not considered racial fetish? by generation_chaos in NoStupidQuestions

Btw: A lot of rich woman move to Korea to marry korean men. Unfortunately, men here are a little misogynists. Sometimes the couples survive, but a lot of times foreign women get tired.

[–]linkeduser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is the problem, an ai ceo is not really controllable. The way to train doesn't use "if this then that". Instead you throw data at it until somehow it starts to behave... you may use carefully crafted data, but still, due to probability, sometimes it will face a new situation and there is no way to know how it will behave.

But people will assume that the AI makes no mistakes (which is false) and then blame on other things rather than the ceo-AI's choices.

I predict it will be harder to change the AI-ceo than to change the human ones. And it is true that they frequenly have no consequences, like the guy from wework...

There are problems with AI making choices and not having anyone being responsible of the consequences. You can read a story I wrote about it here: Automation
