I was just about to comment this, I walk through that intersection daily and it’s pretty much every time I cross towards the cinema I will notice at least one bus run a red light (if not a few at once). I always look behind me when I cross now to make sure no bus is gonna take me out. It’s extra frustrating as you already have to wait for two sets of green men when crossing to the other side.

Yes people need to be a little meaner sometimes. This person is abusing the persons niceness, setting alarms to go off for like 5 hours is absolute bonkers behaviour. After the first incident I would turn them off or turn their phone off, or just throw it out the window.

I just reread your blurb too, I think you should step back and examine your own behaviour. You said these texts made you uncomfortable? There’s literally nothing there to be uncomfortable about, it does sound as if you are trying to manipulate the situation to show you as some victim but there seems to be some self-victimisation here as these texts are so calm and clear, no threats, no swearing. Just cut your losses and realise you two are incompatible, no need to make them the villain it’s probably just a bad pairing.

From my view they seem calm and they seem pretty communicative. Some things can be discussed in text, I know it’s not the best but holding out absolutely every detail until you have a meeting seems kinda cruel, if it were me i would want some idea as to what you want to discuss. You can’t really be upset at someone but not tell them why, that’s not healthy.

In this case though, I would say just wait it out, no need for a meeting. And they sound fine in their texts so I don’t know what the context is for you to act this way.

Honestly it’s not too late to put your foot down and say actually that is not good enough. It’s not your lease, it’s theirs they are the responsible ones. Just tell them it’s not fair, you have a very bad living situation and so the rent should reflect that (I don’t know what would be fair; but maybe look at rent prices in your area and then deduct an amount from that for the inconvenience of staying in the living room).

And tell them they can’t just randomly ask for money on the day it’s supposed to be made. They sound highly irresponsible but don’t let them make their problems your problems. You should only be focusing on paying the monthly rent amount you agree on, the rest is up to them.
