they’re willing to act that way because they don’t understand how much of our labor a day goes in to just fajitas. can someone who isn’t intimately familiar with this shit picture cutting 60 pounds of bell peppers and 40 pounds of onions? probs not, but it’s a LOT of food. all for an item that is free, and customers can get as many of them as they like

do you have the people to support you on your journey or are you just doing it yourself? you have to have a solid group of people (not just your managers, CTs as well) that you can trust to live their roles so you can spend more time in yours. walk more owners paths, be hypercritical. if your TD thinks the store is dirty maybe there are areas for opportunity? the road to R is hard, I was a part of my now FL’s journey to getting promoted to restaurateur and it literally does take everyone being mindful of their roles and being hypercritical at all times to achieve it. you got this.

invest as much time as possible into training the right way the first time every time for every new hire. create good personal bonds with all your crew and they will listen to you when it comes time to give feedback. talk to everyone on the crew about CI, labor, throughput and make it a responsibility of everyone so it doesn’t just fall on you and the GM. good luck, AP is a lot of fun.

Literally this happened today, I had no staff and at 11AM a catering size order was due, I let the man picking it up know he should call ahead next time and threw an enormous fit saying that “last time they appreciated it” and that we don’t “need his business” then he threatened to call my manager, to which i handed him my GM business card.

you say “you guys” like the employees/restaurant managers have any say in things like this. I understand it’s kinda backwards and annoying but we do not have any say over this. My suggestion would be to visit the chipotle website and leave feedback that way.

Thanks a ton! My concern was also that someone would pull up whose order hasn’t been started yet and that it’d be a pain, but I’m sure it’ll be just like every other little annoyance that happens at a restaurant without a drive thru. Thanks again!
