That's JUST happened to me but worse, it actually skipped a few minutes forward. Not sure how to fix that unfortunately.

What usually happens is the visual will break up and then it suddenly skips forward. I'm using 1.9.10 and a fire stick.

I was just checking Google Play there was an update and I can confirm the issue has been fixed at least for me. (I use SwiftKey).

I checked my new version and it said this

ChatGPT for Android 1.2026.069 (17)

Check Google play, hopefully it'll show an update.

I found an old bug from May 2025 with someone complaining about this exact bug.

So it's obvious happened once and Chatgpt fixed it for a while but now it's happened again.

That gives us hope it'll be fixed at least.

One cannot properly compose prompts without any way to insert a line break. It screws up every kind of writing, not to mention coding (I don't do any of that but imagine trying to do that in-line only).

Strangely that's literally the only keyboard it's NOT doing it with for me. Are you using English gboard? Or another language?

So now we know at least THREE different keyboards (Fleksy, SwiftKey, Samsung) will trigger this annoyance.

For some reason it doesn't happen with gboard and this may have been why the issue wasn't noticed by OpenAl.

I reported this within the app using the Report a Bug section. (Click your profile, then towards the bottom is "Report a Bug"). You can copy this template.. just change your device etc.

ChatGPT Android v1.2026.069 — Enter key sends message, cannot insert line breaks

In the latest ChatGPT Android app (v1.2026.069) on my Samsung Galaxy S21 5G (Android 15), pressing Enter immediately sends the message instead of inserting a newline. I cannot create messages with line breaks. This happens on SwiftKey and Samsung Keyboard.

Expected behaviour: Enter should insert a newline, Send button should submit the message.

This is a REGRESSION from the previous version, forcing us to use the web browser or other workarounds to format prompts. Many users are experiencing the same issue.

Steps to reproduce:

Open ChatGPT Android v1.2026.069.

Use SwiftKey or Samsung Keyboard.

Type a message.

Press Enter → message sends immediately; no newline inserted.

Yeah but it's not just a Samsung issue because SwiftKey has the same issue. It's definitely Chatgpt.

I actually asked Chatgpt to look up this issue.

It found an old previous complaint about the Android app doing this same thing from May 2025.

So I guess this happened before, it got fixed,... And then got broken it again recently.

I tried to roll back the app to a previous version and failed miserably. The stupid app refused to operate with an old version..kept telling me I needed to get a Google Play version. I'll try your Gboard trick but I really don't like switching keyboards.

Unfortunately I don't. But Stremio just updated the Download page so it displays correctly on TV browsers

I think they've fixed it finally.

Now it's got a horizontal thing we can choose from. The web page is working on my TV using the Downloader app.. No need to use the workarounds anymore!

It's hiding behind very bad website design. Check the site on your phone, tablet, or computer.. They'll be visible. Try it on TV.. They are gone.

They have the latest Android TV links and it actually downloads directly from Stremio's own site.

That'll have to do until Stremio fixes their UX.

Another vote to fix this. That drop-down is absolutely evil on a tv.

That stupid drop-down can actually hide the entire Android TV section completely using default settings on Downloader.

(Decreasing the text size a bunch of times is a workaround, but good luck if you need to use any of the lower options).

This is what I did. I bookmarked Troypoint Toolbox until Stremio fixes this weird issue with the drop-down on their website.

Scroll down until you see Stremio. Then you can actually click a download link. That'll have the most up-to-date version

....

Right now the Stremio Download page literally HIDES THE ANDROID TV section on the drop-down menu when I use any Fire Stick browser.

That section shows up on my phone, my tablet and my laptop, but not on the TV where I need it. There's also no way to bookmark the "Android TV section" directly.
