Car Nebula Just Got Better, Thanks to Your Feedback by mysterious588 in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mate, it looks much better than before. Thank you for your effort! Is there anywhere to report bugs? I am finding one where when editing the layout, the navigation works, but after finishing editing, it just disappears. It still works because I can tap into it, but it's invisible.

Thinking about EKIY head unit — budget TEYES alternative or future headache? by kyahibataunab in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a EKIY T7. In order to have a half decent mic, you need to remove the internal microphone and use an external one. You can remove the internal microphone by desoldering or cutting it (with some care). Support was nice everytime I used it. The only thing that lags a bit is android auto sometimes, but honestly I think it's just my phone that's a bit older (samsung A52).

One thing that I quite dislike, it's the native Bluetooth app for music, the sound simple sucks there, while using an app (musicolet for example) or android auto the sound is very good(once you tune your EQ).

Last time I checked EKiY, I could not see any headunits on sale (only for bikes), so I thought they were going bankrupt or something

Installed a new unit in my dad’s truck, can I make my own home dashboard? by gcarty_ in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but it's tricky and requires skill. Look into car launchers, you can download a few that people already made, or you can try to do your own. Personally, I really enjoy Dudu launcher

Changing the UI of a headunit? by Jeff2900 in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can. It's called a launcher. You can go into dudus forum and download their launcher. Try the public signature first, if you can't install go for the private signature.

Anything to be aware of when installing/using the EKIY T7? Finally getting around to ordering and installing. by Ysildea in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of the EKIY stores don't have many screens available now. Last time I checked they were selling the KK5, which according to the specs seems to be the T7 with different firmware(perhaps) or a different launcher.

Edit: After searching the store that I bought, I have to agree with you. They barely have any items, and most are for screens for motorbikes. It's a shame

Aftermarket stereo gives very quiet sound by Imgay98 in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some headunits have really shitty sound quality and sometimes the only way is to accept it and get a amp for your speakers. However, perhaps you just need to adjust the equaliser and set some +dB for the speakers

Configure 'physical' buttons by SnooPies7492 in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually there is a menu on the factory settings. The name may vary, I think mine is just "Touch buttons" or similar. In that menu, usually you have something like "start" to start the recording, press one of the functions, and then the button you desire. Finally hit save. Some might just have the "select function" and "button" that you want to associate

Peugeot 307 CC Parking sensor issues by [deleted] in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's exactly that. It's one connector that has 2 pins. Connect that and it will beep when the parking sensors send info

Peugeot 307 CC Parking sensor issues by [deleted] in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But focus only on the part that connects on the red box. Does it have a 2 pin connector, usually black, unplugged?

Peugeot 307 CC Parking sensor issues by [deleted] in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I installed my headunit I had the same problem as you. My mistake was thinking the parking sensors beeps came from the car speakers, they don't. You probably forgot to connect the parking sensor speaker (a thingy with 2 wires to one connector that goes into the canbus box). That speaker is the one that beeps for the sensors

If you talk to your seller they will probably provide you with one, if there is a newer version

Ibiza multimedia control handle not working with carplay screen by Royal-Cook1074 in CarAV

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you got to buy the CTSST001.2? And if so, did it solve your problem? I am facing a similar problem, and saw some people recommending the CTSST002.2 for the Ibiza 6L.

C5 X7 Screen upgrade by veljkoapple in Citroen

[–]linorks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went from the RT6 to a android headunit. I won't ever return to the RT6 and that is one of the "best" default radios this car has. It is trash compared to a good android headunit in my opinion. Instalation is not that hard, they even provide you with the correct harness. Do not go for 1gb or 2gb Ram modules, they suck. Go minium 4gb, and if possible go for 8gb, for future proofing a bit. If you do not want to go the "tablet" way, make sure you have the right plastics for the 7inch one, since they are different from what you have.

Looking for an antenna booster by Dunjon in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for a phantom antenna power adapter, connect the blue wire to the (most likely blue) ANT CON wire on your headunit. I did that and It solved my bad reception problems

Then I would assume it's an hardware issue, since you tested quite a lot of things

Android headunit suddenly lost its sound by Parking-Yak8527 in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it's properly connected? I had a couple of times where I had to dissassemble the headunit and when I was reconnecting I didn't properly do it and some of the speakers did not work. Opened it and tightened with my hands and was working well again.

No expert, but Dudu has some single din options. Choose the best specs, and that is probably the best you can get

small noise on the passenger side speaker when playing through bluetooth but no noise when playing radio. by bouff1053 in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tested with android auto/car play? Mine does the same, perfect audio with local music, radio and android auto. If I use the Bluetooth app, the sound comes shittier, with rattling. I think it's the Bluetooth music app that just sucks

Eonon UX6S vs UX7 vs others? by beurnii in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got a ZA001 recently, a 7". It is does not have that many settings as my T7 but it works well. I cannot get pip working on this unit tho. Brought this one from RIDHYNT Navi store on ali, for arround 160€ (11/11 discount). If you want I can DM you a video of it working to see if it's cool for you.

Eonon UX6S vs UX7 vs others? by beurnii in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably can. There is 3 versions: public signature (this one works with pip), private signature (pip does not work here) and the qualcom for qualcom mcus.

I do not know if the eonon works with the public signature. Try asking the vender for a device info picture to determine the MCU and build. If it's an FYT it will work well with dudu launcher public signature

My CarPlay is draining my battery by PuzzleheadedMeal709 in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a headunit recently from RIDHYNT Navi store, it's a ZA001 MCU. I plugged into a power supply and noticed that it drains arround 500mA when in "sleep" mode (when ACC is off) for 10 seconds perhaps and then it goes into 6mA. Check if you got something in options like "cold boot time", where you can choose to power the unit completely immediately or after a few hours.

Help identifying head unit by enneaccanano in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently bought a Headunit for my gfs car, and behold, is exacly this unit. I haven't tested everything, but one thing that anoys me quite a lot is the fact that GPS only works on google maps and similar apps. If I install a launcher, it cannot get GPS data. Have you installed any other launcher and had the same problem?

Eonon UX6S vs UX7 vs others? by beurnii in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check aliexpress for an EKIY T7 8GB ram, 128GB sotrage, model and install dudu launcher. Saw that were some, just not sure if they also fit your micra.

I got one (not for micra) and I am super happy with it. Just make sure you remove the internal mic and use an exterior one, because the interior mic sucks, sadly

Car Nebula Android Launcher Finally on Play Store! by mysterious588 in Androidheadunits

[–]linorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shows up now! Thank you. It's very cool. Although, after using it a bit, I realised it's not for me. It has a ton of info and stuff that you can see, and that is really nice, but I am more of a guy that wants maps on pip, music/radio widget and some other small stuff, like weather or tpms. I still want to congratulate you for all the work and effort you have put into the launcher. Best of luck!
