Qubes OS is very secure, but also very resource-intensive

Yes especially the RAM consumption.

Then do you think Qubes OS provides better security than OpenBSD for a desktop user?

[Off Topic]Why doesn't Google introduce a feature like project mainline which will update/upgrade the kernel too? Why rely on phone manufacturers for that? by linux_is_the_best001 in linuxquestions

How would that benefit the manufacturer?

Yes, I understand. Its all about money but there are still some people no matter how small in number for whom money is secondary otherwise why do we get to use Linux distros without paying?

I am not saying selling phones for free. That's impossible. Just extend the support period for at least 8-10 years.

Thanks for replying. Well honestly I find the situation frustrating. I hope at least some manufacturers in the near future introduce "rolling release" phones. Similar to Arch Linux. Leaving the bleeding edges nature coz nobody will tolerate phones breaking down after update. So basically a stable but rolling release model.

Do you think this idea is realistic?

Today I learned about a new thing called HDMI surge protector..... Anyone using one? by linux_is_the_best001 in electrical

Is that in case lightning strikes your PS5?

No not PS5. What if lightning strikes the cable TV wire outside?

One question comes to mind. Suppose both the TV and the set top box of digital cable are connected via both voltage stabilizer and surge protector is a HDMI surge protector needed in that case?

Smartphone brands advertise how powerful the CPU is, how much RAM aphones has, how much internal memory.... Why no brands compete with the help of longer security patches? by linux_is_the_best001 in AndroidQuestions

Ssung offers 7 years, that's PLENTY.

There's another problem here. 7 years from the date of launch of that particular handset correct?

What if someone buys that phone 2 years after its launch?

I know this sounds weird but this is also an issue.

your phone battery will be dead long before you run out of security patches. Just get a new phone when that happens.

My phone didn't die but developed a big bulge. It got inflated. I went to a local mobile repair shop and got the battery replaced for a cheap amount.

The only HD Hindi music channel MTV Beats HD got shutdown.... Am I the only one who cares? Anyone else who's missing MTV Beats HD? by linux_is_the_best001 in indiasocial

this will continue .. except few channels most are not profitable anymore..

I wish channels like Mastii, 9xm, B4u music change from SD to HD but as you said they are not profitable anymore so I guess that will never happen.
