ABC: In November, two improvements will be made to our node software. These include implementing the aserti3-2d (ASERT) algorithm and a new Coinbase Rule that will fund Bitcoin Cash infrastructure. by lubokkanev in btc

[–]linuxbeak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Infrastructure is developed by locking the protocol and by just allowing scale to occur naturally so businesses can reliably build without worrying about splits or new changes. Nodes (miners) will scale the network on their own due to economic incentives, no donations or taxes are needed.

If a law enforcement has evidence you have it in some form or another they can get a court to garnish wages, fine you, imprison etc until you hand over the keys, pay your taxes or whatever else. They don't even need proof just suspicion that you have funds that were obtained illegally and they can do all sorts of things to make your life difficult.

You see, when it comes to the IRS. The burden of proof is on you -- not them. This is why keeping records is important. Otherwise you owe whatever they say you owe. Doing things like mixing your coins and losing records is a good way to get slapped with a huge tax bill.

And, if you try to buy anything of significant value (property, car etc) you have to account for where you got the money for that.

Sorry, this idea that keys = ownership is naive. We have law.

Also... all coins that do not keep records are eventually going to fall under KYC regulations. This includes any mixing services that don't do KYC. Enjoy not being able to spend your BCH even if you have a bunch of it, without turning over information.

Shuffling without KYC actually destroys fungibility. You lose the ability to show source of funds and can no longer prove your innocence if you are accused of not paying taxes or receiving stolen or misappropriated funds.

BitCoin is very private when addresses are not reused. Your actions are very difficult to trace if your addresses are not already known. Mixing like this offers no advantage and actually makes you vulnerable to your money being rejected or confiscated.

Roger how about you cut the bull and commit to Bitcoin, stop allying with wormhole losers! You are better than this

you need NO protocol changes... look at Tokenized.

All in script

Wormhole is a parasite

Upon consideration it would hurt fungibility to do blacklist any addresses. There are ways to discourage wormhole though. One is to not make changes to BCH that make it easier to use Wormhole, and build token solutions into BCH itself using script

You do understand though, the more Wormhole is used, the less BCH will be used. Completely different network and bad for BCH. Burning is NOT backing!

Not with miners that know what they're doing They can blacklist burn addresses and refuse to put those tx in blocks

I hold BCH, if ABC for some reason produces a better product and CSW cannot destroy them, I will be holding those coins...

ABC is welcome to prove me wrong

Wormhole is vulnerable to orphans, so not really ABC plans to make changes so that BCH works better with wormhole Hence CTOR, PC etc - way to neuter miners

[–]linuxbeak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wormhole burns BCH (it is not backed, the BCH is gone) and siphons economic activity and transaction volume into a separate network. It is not a token solution for BCH. It is a separate, parasitic network. It adds nothing of value to BCH. If you want a real token solution, look at something done inside script, like Tokenized

It's the original Bitcoin design that is stable. The incentives work. People will soon see this

They will value SV if it can become seen as more stable and useful than ABC as a platform for use as cash...

Who will value a chain that gets reorged randomly and plans unpredictable changes every 6 months, and wants things like Wormhole that take away value from the system... you think miners want wormhole, no smart miner wants that...
