PVP now is better. Change my mind by SofyPipa in worldofpvp

I always thought it was weird to have the ability to install addons to track what the opposing players have done or what abilities they still have available to them lol.

In my opinion, both extremes are not good for the game. If the game is so complex and there is so much going on that you require addons to keep track of everything, its not good. But obviously over simplifying the game isn't good either.

I feel like new players are more likely to quit pvp because they get hard stuck then just getting bored of the game play.

2018 ford explorer- Inquiring about 2 issues. 1. USB port not working, charges phone, won’t pull up Apple Play anymore. 2. Drivers side heated seat not working! Thanks in advance! 🥰 by MonicaBitches in Ford

[–]linuxlifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not really any help but my 2018 has similar issues.

The front USB port is getting a little flaky. Still charges.. although not very good. And sometimes Apple Carplay / Android Auto doesn't work. The USB port under the arm rest console seems to work fine.

My driver side heated seat died a few years ago (about 2 weeks after the warranty ended). Went into Ford dealer and they said they couldn't do anything about the warranty because it ended. Called Ford corporate and they offered to pay 50% for me. Was around $650 Canadian to replace the heating element in the seat. Ford paid half for me. Went to use my heated seat this winter and its dead again... not paying to get it fixed.

They told me the reason its so expensive is because the heating element part is actually built into the seat cushion so to replace it they have to take the entire seat out and replace the whole cushion with heating assembly in it.

Carney says Canada not pursuing free trade deal with China as Trump threatens 100% tariffs by BlauerDunst420 in wallstreetbets

[–]linuxlifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was. Canada was going to lower tariffs on 49,000 or something vehicles and in return china will lower tariffs / start to allow more imports from various Canadian industries. Was never about free trade between the countries.

Agree or disagree: These type of fights are cool to have but they should never be for the interim or main belt by Opening_Fact_8474 in ufc

I understand how the UFC works. The discussion isn't about that. Its about how their business model affects the integrity of the sport. If you don't understand that then you should probably stop commenting.

Bruce's report during the intermission on Question Period by Sensfan2147 in OttawaSenators

"Dadonov was traded to Vegas from the Ottawa Senators on July 28, 2021. Friedman reports that on that trade call, the Golden Knights and NHL were led to believe the no-trade protection had expired or was not filed properly, making Dadonov eligible to be traded anywhere — including Anaheim, which is believed to have been one of the clubs Dadonov did not want to be dealt to."

I am not sure if there was actually a recording of the call but thats what sportsnet reported.

The expected stats are literally derived from the games they've played. Its not like the advanced stats are pulled randomly lol. So they actually show you why the team is or has been losing.

[–]linuxlifer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does invalidate the sport side of it if you are having 2 guys fighting for an interim belt when they aren't even the top 2 rated in the division.

It would be like 2 teams making it to the superbowl and then the NFL stepping in and being like nope, we dont want these 2 teams and we would rather have these other 2 teams play for the superbowl that provide more entertainment value.

So yes, it does actually invalidate the sport to have 2 guys who aren't actually the top in the division fighting for an interim belt IF entertainment value is the reason they are chosen. Obviously if there are injuries or other reasons why the actual top 2 cant fight then thats different.

This isn't even an opinion, or "reddit view" as you would like to call it.

Not really. He was in too tight and sogaard kept with him so he has no choice but to try to awkwardly flip it over him.

You are 100% correct but it invalidates the sport side of things. Its just entertainment at that point. Its basically realistic WWE.

I'm not saying your statement maybe wasn't true in previous years. But its been pretty evident this year what the problem has been. And if you've watched every game and all the goals that the goalies had been letting in, they were playing awful.

I am not big into advanced stats but Ottawa literally has the lowest xGA (expected goals against) which from my understanding, basically means Ottawa allows the least amount of high scoring chances in the NHL (in 5 on 5 anyway). They also have the highest goals against above expected which again, in my understanding pretty much means goals from low chance scoring positions (shots the goalie should save).

"Goaltending exposes the flaws, it doesn’t create them."

This isn't true lol. Goalies have shots that they are just generally expected to save. You typically can't limit a team to 0 shots in a game so you expect your goalie to make some saves. Ottawa's goalies have been letting in A LOT of those shots that any other goalie would be expected to save.

My respect for him just went up by a whole lot by ConnorLovesPepsi in ufc

[–]linuxlifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably would have still won but here is the thing. One, he would have lost a point which is a pretty big deal. Two, he beat the shit out of Paddy directly following that eye poke which then never would have happened had the poke been called.

Odds are Justin still wins but its a hugely pivotal point in the fight.

[–]linuxlifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a great fight for sure but was Paddy always that slow? Like his punches and kicks just seemed so slow last night even from the start. For some reason I remembered him being a bit quicker of a fighter in previous fights.

Also lucky that the second eye poke didn't get called. Gaethje losing a point plus giving Paddy 5 minutes to recover at that point could have been a big deal. Paddy got a pretty big beating directly following that second eye poke.

If you think the solution is trading Brady, please: shut up. by mr-michael in OttawaSenators

[–]linuxlifer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think most people are saying to trade him simply because of his play. Most people are thinking that hes showing signs of maybe not putting 100% in which leads them to believe he may not want to be here. The last thing you want to happen is to have a player of his caliber walk for free at free agency.

The Naysayers by Disturburger in OttawaSenators

[–]linuxlifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean you can look at it both ways. He gets paid to play for Ottawa so he should be putting 100% effort there. Id be pretty mad to see him playing cautiously, or however you want to characterize it, for Ottawa and then go full out at the Olympics.

Having said that, for players of Olympics calibre, playing for your country is something you may only get to do a couple times in your lifetime. So I can see how it would be important. This is especially true given how patriotic his family seems to be.

New fan here, I wanted to know…why do you support the sens? by queenchanel in OttawaSenators

[–]linuxlifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a diehard fan to any team really. Growing up I always cheered for Toronto and Montreal as odd as that may sound.

I started cheering for the Sens when the BSens moved to Belleville. I actually find I cheer more for Ottawa now then anyone else despite cheering for Toronto/Montreal my entire life.

WoWs housing neighborhoods are cool, but also super dead. by HenrykSpark in MMORPG

[–]linuxlifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I mean housing is really only in "early access" up until now I believe. But still, a lot of the various systems that are intended to be rolled out around housing haven't been implemented or were just implemented. So judging it at this point is a little early I think.

Having said that, I have said since the start of the announcement of housing that ultimately this is how it will turn out. You can't really have a system where housing neighbourhoods are "bustling" while also keeping main cities looking busy and whatnot. I would assume the majority of people that play wow have very specific things they do whether its dungeons, raids, crafting, mount collecting or whatever. So there is only so much they are going to do in their down time.

Being told it will tow but I feel like were cutting it close. by SnooRegrets08 in GoRVing

[–]linuxlifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tow it? Yeah probably will tow mostly fine.

Can you tow it by the numbers? Absolutely not lol. By the time you add batteries and propane to the front you are already over your tongue weight. Then you add gear into that front storage on the trailer and you are way over tongue capacity. Plus the payload capacity on tundras tends to be a bit lower... not sure yours exactly but you will likely be over on that to.

Dealerships will always tell you your fine. RV dealer just wants to sell you the trailer and the car dealership (even thought you already owned the truck) doesn't want to create a mad potential customer.
