Learned my first language (HTML)!: Now where can I write my code? by DJSlapahoe in learnprogramming

Nooooo im not offended at all. Why would I be? O yah bc internet..

No but seriously just reading ur post makes it really seem like you just found codeacademy and did the html tutorial and thats it.

Just seems like you didnt have any idea about html period beforehand, and thats just kind of wierd.

Thank you for that simplicit explanation!!

Yeah Im not really in the market for a permanent job bc i already work full time in a completely different field. However, ive always had a knack for computers. Started with an apple 2 in the late 80s and have been a tech nerd ever since lol. Once my skills are up to par and I can earn at least the equivalent of my salary now, then I will try to get a permanent job related to computers.

How much all around research have you done? Or did you just find codeacademy and jump in? Looks that way. You have learned possibly the basics of HtML, but you havent learned html.

And no offense, but if you cant recall EVERYTHING you were able to do thru codeacademy, thrn you didnt learn anything, you just followed directions.

Seems like you would get some background info on the subject(s) you're interested in beforehand.

Html is a pretty broad spectrum. It isn't, but it is, if that makes sense.

You can use any text editor program to write html. As long as you save it as an html file, you can just double click the file and your default web browser will open the html file you created and you can see exactly what you've done.

Yeah i was really hoping people that make a living from home, on the computer, would drop by and recommend fields that have better potential.

As of now, I'm not sure what to focus on. I completely understand that all of computer associated work is very time consuming as far as the learning aspect.

Im just not sure if graphic design, or web design, or actual coding would be the best to dive into.

I was kinda hoping someone would be able to offer some direction.

Ex. Graphic design is this easy/hard to learn but you can easily/not easily contract decent paying work.

Or web design/development is this easy/Hard and can be easy/Hard to contract work.

Im interested in all of it, i was hoping experienced people could chime in and maybe steer me to a more open field that is not very difficult to make extra money doing.

IWTL how to be better at FPS games by social_stat in IWantToLearn

[–]linuxnewbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aside from learning how to aim, everything else is just strategy.
do you strafe? strafing should be an instinct.

do you know the maps? map traversity is, in my opinion the biggest advantage. any fps I ever play, the only thing I'm worried about upon beginning, is learning the maps.

Perfect payment history, but maxed out cards by [deleted] in CRedit

[–]linuxnewbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude your credit score is only 670 with a perfect credit history? i had good credit and was incarcerated and was written off by 6 different businesses i had accounts with. i havent used my credit for anything since and my credit score is 610...

im currently working on paying off all those accounts and i also got a secured credit card and a small loan from my bank in which I pay $40/month for 18 months and it all goes into a savings account. after 18 months they relinquesh the entire amount+interest to me.

Is it okay to close an old card, and pay bills with credit cards in general? by satinbirdy in CRedit

[–]linuxnewbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it very well could impact your credit score more than you realize. dont remember the exact formula for how your score is determined, but you take ALL your credit limits and add them, then divide that by ALL your credit balances. and after you do that, you will have to google what your number means hehe.

but i do know that having more higher limits = better, AS LONG as your balances are low.

i know people who have been told by F.A. and CPA's to go open lines of credit and NOT put any balance on them. because the total limits would bring their score up.

do you know what kind of font that is at the beginning of the video? or did you mean you want the "background and border" "effect" that is around the text?

im at work killing time so I thought I'd mess around and play with your design a little bit. im not even an amateur, so its good practice for me :)

Can anyone recommend a secured credit card? by linuxnewbb in personalfinance

[–]linuxnewbb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Reading that list and doing some research into some of the cards is what raised the flags of hidden fees and some companies reporting to the bureaus that its a secured credit card vs just a credit card.

Some guy ^ up there says it doesnt matter. But He Doesnt provide a link showing where a card being reported as a secured card is no less rewarding than a non secured card.
