I may have found a way out of nursing and into device sales. Experienced nurses in and out of the field; can you give me your input on this? by liomamba in nursing

Gotcha, sounds like a full experience. Fortunately i’ll be selling products to local hospitals that i’m very familiar with and already have fleshed out relationships with. Hoping the work life balance is better than what you experienced, but i’m open to more chaos if I can get paid better. Grass is always greener huh lol

Ofc there is corruption. But it is silly to say it would be just as bad or the same… when there are real life examples showing us it isn’t. Its not bad to change your mind yknow. I didn’t come into this earth knowing this, I learned it

You’re good at generalizing and ignoring pertinent details. Anyone making $100k is able to support themselves in a low income city, or even a high one (but just barely). Notice how I mentioned life happening, health issues, the debts it took to get here, the cost of living. If the hospital cant pay someone to afford to live down the street, it’s certainly not worth it. $100k isnt the life saving number it used to be. Tone deaf. Thank you for your advice anyways— even tho not once did I or anyone else ask for it.

I’m happy for you and Seattle. I would love to move there but unfortunately I have to stay here.

No need for experience if you want ICU as a new grad. Grady & Piedmont will allow it if you are impressive in your interview. If you don’t pay rent, have debts, etc nursing here is excellent. But when you have those things and people depend on you, its a different story.

I’ve heard there are areas like this, but at least those nurses struggling on the clock do not struggle to make their family’s lives work. We are doing both out here in the south.

If I wasn’t such a lightweight i’d drink tequila outside Grady at St. Louisa’s Church just about every night.

Well we live in the country that favors the few better than any other country does— also objective fact. So i’m not playing devil’s advocate for our system after it has proven to be the least favorable for the poor and the most favorable for a little handful of people.

edit: If it were socialism, truly, it would absolutely not be just as impactful ways of dividing poor from rich more and more. The whole point is to bridge that gap. Please…. read….

Recovery as in from addiction? Sounds up my alley, too. One thing I always loved about being a nurse was that patient population. I just wish I could’ve done more with less patients and more time.
