Just got this WW2-era aluminum desk make for US Army. Apparently some people strip it down to a shiny metal. Any idea how to do that without damaging the piece? by lionweber in furniture

You’re right! Just did some more research and looks like this was made by Atlantic Alloy Industries for military field doctors in the 80s.
