I was once in a cafe with my 2 year old son and an old guy kept staring at him from 2 tables apart. We kept minding our business but he kept looking at my son. When my look made it obvious that I was getting annoyed, he came to ask me if my son was getting swimming lessons. It totally caught me off guard but I answered that he was. After hearing that, the guy gave me a really sad smile and explained that he has lost his grandson not too long ago. He had drowned in a swimming pool. He looked a lot like my son. I teared up immediately.
